It is a main object of the present invention to impart higher antifogging properties to the hydrophilic material formed of a crosslinked resin, having a surface enriched with hydrophilic groups, previously proposed by the inventors. The laminate of the present invention includes a water absorbing layer (B) and a hydrophilic layer (A) provided in this order on a substrate, wherein the hydrophilic layer (A) is formed of a crosslinked resin having an anionic, cationic or nonionic hydrophilic group, and has a gradient of hydrophilic groups (intensity of hydrophilic group on surface of the hydrophilic layer (A)/intensity of hydrophilic group at &#xbd; of thickness of the hydrophilic layer (A)) of not less than 1.1; and the water absorbing layer (B) is formed of a crosslinked resin having a water absorption rate per unit mass (g) of in the range of 5 to 500 wt %.

Antifogging laminate

A polymerizable composition of the present invention includes a polymerization reactive compound (A), and an internal release agent (B) including a polyether-modified silicone compound (b1) represented by General Formula (1) and a polyether-modified silicone compound (b2) represented by General Formula (2), in which the polymerization reactive compound (A) is one or more compounds selected from a polyiso(thio) cyanate compound, a poly(thio) epoxy compound, a polyoxetanyl compound, a polythietanyl compound, an alkyne compound, a poly(thi)ol compound, a polyamine compound, an acid anhydride, or a polycarboxylic acid compound.

Process for producing polymerizable composition for optical material and polymerizable composition for optical material

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a modified acrylic resin cured product, particularly, a modified acrylic resin film, having excellent lubricity and excellent transparency, and a laminate including the modified acrylic resin film. The modified acrylic resin cured product (C) according to the present invention is obtained by treating the surface of a cured product (X) including an acrylic resin by using a compound (A) containing, in each molecule, one or more anionic hydrophilic groups forming an ion pair with an onium ion of an amino silicone, and one or more groups selected from the group consisting of a group containing a polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond, an amino group, a mercapto group and a hydroxy group.

Modified acrylic resin cured product, and laminate thereof, and production methods therefor

The present invention aims to provide a primer composition that can give good adhesion between an acrylic resin and an inorganic substrate, such as a substrate formed of metal, metal oxide, glass, ceramic, cement, or mortar and is suitably used as a primer for bonding them together. The primer composition is produced by mixing (a) a polythiol having at least two mercapto groups in one molecule, (b) a silane compound having at least one functional group and at least one alkoxysilyl group in one molecule, the at least one functional group being reactive with a mercapto group, and water.

Primer composition

The invention provides a cured product (for example, a film including the cured product) which has an excellent balance between hydrophilicity and abrasion resistance, can retain high hydrophilicity even when washed with water, and can remain hydrophilic and resistant to the attachment of (or can be easily cleaned of) contaminants even when subjected to long storage or heating, and a composition which can give such cured products. A cured product is obtained by curing a composition which includes a copolymer (i) including structural units represented by specific chemical formulae, and an amino resin (ii).

Hydrophilic materials including sulfonate copolymer and amino resin

The invention provides monolayer films excellent in hydrophilicity and transparency which include a crosslinked resin having a surface enriched with hydrophilic groups, and materials which exhibit excellent properties such as hydrophilicity, antifogging properties and antifouling properties by virtue of having the above monolayer films. A monolayer film is fabricated which includes a crosslinked resin obtained by polymerizing a composition including a compound (I) having an anionic hydrophilic group and a functional group with a polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond, and a compound (II) having three or more hydroxyl groups and three or more functional groups with a polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond, the monolayer film having a gradient (Sa/Da) of not less than 1.1 wherein Sa is the surface concentration of the anionic hydrophilic groups in the monolayer film, and Da is the deep concentration of the hydrophilic groups at &#xbd; of the thickness of the monolayer film.

Hydrophilic monolayer films

A hydrophilic film that has high adhesion to inorganic materials and is safer and excellent in transparency and also exhibits both very high hydrophilicity and abrasion resistance, and a laminate including the hydrophilic film. The hydrophilic film is produced by applying a specific hydrophilic compound (c) having an acryloyl group and a potassium sulfonate group or the like to a surface of a layer formed from a mixture containing a silane compound (a) including one silicon atom, a mercapto group or the like, and at least one silicon-bonded group, and a silane compound (b) including at least four silicon-bonded groups and not including groups reactive with a carbon-carbon double bond, and allowing a reaction between at least a part of acryloyl groups contained in the hydrophilic compound (c) and at least a part of mercapto groups derived from the compound (a).

Hydrophilic film

The present invention provides: a composition including a polymer (i) which has a &#x2014;SOM group and an epoxy group, wherein M represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or an ammonium ion, and a silane compound (ii) which has at least two hydroxy group(s), alkoxy group(s) or halogen atom(s) that are each bound to a silane atom; and a hydrophilic film obtained by curing the composition. The hydrophilic film of the present invention is excellent in its hydrophilicity, durability, abrasion resistance and weather resistance and has high antifogging, antifouling, antistatic and quick-drying (water evaporation) properties. Therefore, a variety of laminates in which the hydrophilic film of the present invention is laminated on a substrate can also be provided.

Composition and film comprising same

The invention provides monolayer films which not only have hydrophilicity and are excellent in such properties as antifogging properties, antifouling properties, antistatic properties and anti-condensation properties but also tend to exhibit excellent transparency even with a large film thickness and excellent scratch resistance, as well as stacks having the monolayer film. The monolayer film is obtained by preparing a mixture including a monomer composition and a solvent, the monomer composition including a specific monomer and a polyvalent monomer having two or more (meth)acryloyl groups and being free of sulfonic group, carboxyl group and phosphoric group in a specific molar ratio, the solvent having a specific solubility parameter &#x3c3;; applying the mixture onto a substrate and removing at least part of the solvent; and polymerizing the monomer composition to produce a monolayer film having at least one anionic hydrophilic group selected from a sulfonic group, a carboxyl group and a phosphoric group and a specific anion concentration ratio (Sa/Da) of the anion concentration (Sa) at the outer surface to the anion concentration (Da) at the middle point between the inner surface in contact with the substrate and the outer surface.

Monolayer film and hydrophilic material comprising the same

There is stably provided a hydrophilic cured product, such as a single-layer film, in which anionic hydrophilic groups are concentrated at a surface that is in contact with the air and which is excellent in transparency and adhesion to a substrate and tends to be rarely cracked. The hydrophilic cured product or single-layer film comprising a resin composition is produced by applying a mixture containing a polyvalent monomer (II) having two or more (meth) acryloyl groups and a compound (IV) having a specific group and a sulfonic acid group to a substrate or the like, drying the mixture if necessary, and then performing polymerization.

Single layer film and hydrophilic material comprising the same

A single layer film containing at least one anionic hydrophilic group selected from a sulfonic acid group, a carboxyl group and a phosphate group, wherein an anion concentration ratio (Sa/Da) of an anion concentration at a surface (Sa) to an anion concentration at a deep part (Da) is 1.1 or more. The single layer film is a copolymer prepared by polymerizing a composition containing a compound (I) represented by the general formula (1) ([X]s[M1]l[M2]m (1)) and a compound (II) having two or more (meth)acryloyl groups in a molecule at a molar ratio of 15:1 to 1:30 and having a water contact angle of 30&#xb0; or less. Such a single layer film has high hydrophilicity and surface hardness and is excellent in antifogging property, antifouling property and antistatic property, thus is useful as an antifogging material, an antifouling material, an antistatic material and a multilayer body.

A poly(thio)ester (co)polymer which comprises a repeating structural unit represented by the formula (1-A) as an essential structural unit:[wherein Ris a divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group which may contain at least one sulfur atom in a sulfide group; Ris a mono- or poly-cyclic aliphatic or aromatic dicarboxylic acid residue; and Xand Xare each independently an oxygen atom or sulfur atom, and when Xand Xare the oxygen atoms, Ris a divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group containing at least one sulfur atom in the sulfide group]; and an optical component obtainable by molding the poly(thio)ester (co)polymer. The poly(thio)ester (co)polymer is excellent in transparency and optical characteristics (e.g., a higher refractive index, higher Abbe number, and lower birefringence), and has also good mechanical characteristics and thermal characteristics, and further is excellent in melt fluidity and injection moldability.

Organic polymers having water contact angles of 20&deg; or smaller, preferably 7&deg; or smaller and equipped with both high wettability and high transparency. The organic polymers may contain as partial structures polar structures of about 3 debyes or higher in dipole moment and are available especially from polymerization of polymerizable compounds having alkylene(thio)urea structures.
