A hair cosmetic composition comprising the following components (A) and (B) and having a pH of 6 or less: (A) an oxyalkylene polymer represented by the following general formula (a1): -(AO)&#x2014; (a1) wherein A represents an alkylene group having 2 to 6 carbon atoms and n represents a number from 50 to 30,000, provided that n number of AOs consist of at least two alkyleneoxy groups and are arranged through either random polymerization or block polymerization; and (B) a polymer containing a component unit represented by the following general formula (b1) and a component unit represented by the following general formula (b2) in a mass ratio (b1)/(b2) of 50/50 to 100/0: &#x2014;(CHCRCOOH)&#x2014; (b1) &#x2014;(CHCRCOOR)&#x2014; (b2) wherein Rand Rrepresent H or CHand Rrepresents a Chydrocarbon group.

The invention relates to an emulsion composition, wherein an optically isotropic surfactant phase containing a nonionic surfactant (hereinafter the phase being referred to as the surfactant phase) is present as stable droplets in an aqueous solution phase containing an electrolytic salt (hereinafter the phase being referred to as the aqueous solution phase), the amount of the salt being such an amount that the aqueous solution phase is incompatible with the surfactant phase, with a polymer including a segment (a) having affinity with the aqueous solution phase and a segment (b) having affinity with the surfactant phase; and a liquid detergent composition containing the emulsion composition and inorganic builder particles dispersed in the emulsion composition.

The liquid detergent composition is provided with a high detergency and ensuring a good dispersion stability of builder particles and comprises a liquid dispersion containing (a) 30 mass % or more of a specific inorganic builder particle and (b) a block or graft polymer having a carboxyl group (i) and a polymer chain (ii), having, as its structural unit, an alkyleneoxy group, the composition having a viscosity (25&#xb0; C.) of 3000 mPa&#xb7;s or less and a volumetric separation rate (25&#xb0; C., allowed to stand for 30 days) of 5% or less.

The present invention provides a liquid detergent composition being excellent in detergency and dispersion stability and a process for producing the same. The invention provides a liquid detergent composition having a degree of separation by volume of 5% or less after storage for 1 month at 25&deg; C., comprising a liquid phase as the phase (a), a polymeric dispersant as the component (b)&rsqb; and at least one selected from the group consisting of a crystalline silicate compound and an aluminosilicate compound as the component (c), wherein the component (b) has a cation exchange capacity of not less than 120 CaCO mg/g when the water content of the composition is 5% by weight or less and then the aluminosilicate compound only is used as the component (c) or when the water content of the composition is larger than 5% by weight.

The present invention provides a fiber product-treating agent which can impart an excellent wrinkle-resistant effect and an excellent durable press effect to the fiber product capable of being heated and being hardly effected with not only during wearing but also after washing. That is, the present invention provides the treating agent for imparting the durable press configuration on a fiber product by a heating treatment with e.g. an iron, which comprises a specific amount of (i) two or more compounds forming mutually a crosslinked structure by heating and/or (ii) a compound forming a self-crosslinked structure by heating, and water, wherein the content of a nonvolatile matter is 0.01 to 30%.

A cationic group-containing copolymer is provided which possesses excellent thixotropy and exhibits high adsorbability to the skin, hair, etc. and, when incorporated as a thickener in cosmetic articles, manifests a very satisfactory tactile sensation. The cationic group-containing copolymer is characterized in that the viscosity at 25.degree. C. of the aqueous solution prepared by incorporating the copolymer in deionized water at a concentration of 0.5 wt. % is in the range of 0.3-20 Pa.multidot.sec. at a shear rate of 1 sec.sup.-1 and in the range of 0.01-5 Pa.multidot.sec. at a shear rate of 10 sec.sup.-1 and the viscosity at a shear rate of 1 sec.sup.-1 is higher than the viscosity at a shear rate of 10 sec.sup.-1. This cationic group-containing copolymer is obtained by particularly using a cationic group-containing vinyl monomer, a hydrophilic nonionic group-containing vinyl monomer such as N,N-dimethyl (meth)acrylamide or N,N-diethyl (meth)acrylamide, and a cross-linking vinyl monomer containing at least two vinyl groups in the molecular unit thereof as essential component monomers and radically polymerizing the essential component monomers. A thickener made of the copolymer is also disclosed.

Polymerizable macromonomers and polymers prepared therefrom

An organopolysiloxane which generates intramolecular or intermolecular cross-linking based on dipole-dipole interaction, hydrogen bonding or ion bonding, and which is not ruptured or plastically deformed at an extension ratio no more than 15% at a temperature of 20.degree. C. under relative humidity of 65%; and a method of setting hair using the same. Hair which is set by the method retains the given shape over time, and the organoplysiloxane imparts a soft touch to the hair. In addition, the shape given by the setting treatment can be easily restored to the original shape by ordinary shampooing.
