A rotational angle sensor and a method for manufacturing the same, and a throttle control device with a rotational angle sensor, which may lower the cost, are provided. The rotational angle sensor includes each sensor IC for detecting a rotational angle of a rotor based on a magnetic field generated between a pair of magnets respectively disposed across the rotational axis of the rotor; each main terminal connected with each connection terminal of each sensor IC; and a holder member for holding each sensor IC and connection portions of each main terminal on each sensor side. A sensor assembly is constructed to form the sensor ICs the main terminals and the holder member into an assembly. A potting material is potted into the holder member.

Rotational angle sensor and method manufacturing same, and throttle control device with rotational angle sensor

A fuel property determining apparatus may comprise a first sensor and second sensor. The first sensor may detect a concentration of an alcohol contained in fuel. The second sensor may detect a vapor pressure of the target fuel. The fuel property determining apparatus may further comprise a memory and a processor. The memory may store first data for determining a 'heavy/light gravity&#x2014;vapor pressure' relationship based on the concentration of the alcohol. The processor may determine the fuel property of the target fuel based on the first data stored in the memory, the alcohol concentration detected by the first sensor, and the vapor pressure detected by the second sensor.

A sensor for a throttle control device. The throttle control device includes a throttle body. A throttle valve is disposed within an intake air channel defined within the throttle body. A speed or gear reduction mechanism is coupled between a motor and the throttle valve. A sensor detects the rotational position, i.e., the rotational angle, of the motor and has a movable section and a fixed sensing section. The movable section is attached to a rotary shaft of the motor, so that the movable section rotates as the rotary shaft rotates. The fixed sensing section is mounted to the throttle body and is disposed within the movable section. By detecting the rotation of the motor a computing section can accurately determine the degree of opening of the throttle valve. The sensor outputs the degree of opening of the throttle valve.

Throttle control devices

A throttle control device includes a motor coupled to the throttle shaft, so that the throttle valve rotates to open and close an intake air channel as the motor is driven. A detection device serves to detect the degree of opening of the throttle valve and includes a pair of magnets and a sensor. The magnets are mounted to the throttle shaft via a magnet support and are positioned to oppose each other across the rotational axis of the throttle shaft in order to produce a uniform magnetic field. The sensor is mounted to the throttle body and serves to detect a direction of the magnetic field produced by the magnets, so that the detection device outputs a signal representing the degree of opening of the throttle valve.

A gas detector having an intake to let in the gas to be detected and detecting the gas let in through the intake by a gas sensor, in which a porous film is horizontally arranged over the gas intake, in order to prevent the gas permeability of the porous film from being affected by water, oil and/or dust riding on the porous film, wherein a water-repellant and oil-repellant porous film is horizontally provided in a stretched state over the upper end of the intake, and the outside of the outer circumferential edge of the porous film is so structured as to allow liquid on the porous film to fall externally.

A rotational angle sensor detects a rotational angle of a rotary member based on a magnet field produced across the rotary member by a pair of magnets. At least one magnetic detection device is disposed within a holder and serves to detect the magnetic field and to output a signal representing the rotational angle of the rotary member. For example, the holder may be mounted to a fixed place. A printed circuit board is coupled to the holder and is electrically connected to the at least one magnetic detection device. A positioning device serves to position the at least one magnetic detection device in a predetermine position relative to the holder.

Rotational angle sensors

A throttle control device includes a throttle body that defines an intake air channel. A motor is coupled to a throttle shaft. As the motor is driven, the throttle valve rotates to open and close the intake air channel. A detection device serves to detect a degree of opening of the throttle valve and includes a pair of magnets and a sensor. The magnets are mounted to the throttle shaft via a magnet support and are positioned to oppose each other with respect to a rotational axis of the throttle shaft in order to produce a magnetic field. The sensor is mounted to the throttle body and serves to detect the magnetic field. The sensor comprises a sensing section and a computing section connected to each other. The sensing section may be inclined relative to the computing section in order to form a compact shape.

An inner core for an ignition coil is inserted into a bobbin, around which a primary winding and a secondary winding are disposed. An outer core is inserted into a housing to form a magnetic circuit with the inner core. A magnet member, which is made of a permanent magnet material such as Sm.sub.1 Co.sub.5, is connected to the inner core. The bobbin, which is assembled with the inner core, the magnet member, the primary and secondary windings, is inserted into the housing, with the magnet member positioned between the inner core and the outer core, and then the inside of the housing is molded by a synthetic resin. Thereafter, the magnet member is magnetized to provide a predetermined magnetic force. The magnet member may be molded by Sm.sub.1 Co.sub.5 to form a plate having a thickness of 1.5 mm and more.

Method of making an ignition coil

An ignition coil for internal combustion engines including a primary core formed in a shape of rectangular ring and fixed on the inner peripheral edge of the bottom wall of a casing, a secondary core having a main portion of which is formed in a shape of straight beam, a primary winding assembly having a primary bobbin formed on the main portion of the secondary core, and a secondary winding assembly. Both winding assemblies are housed in an internal space of the casing, and a synthetic resin is filled in the internal space of the casing and cured. In the side wall of the casing is formed a rectangular opening portion which opens at the top end; and on the primary bobbin a rectangular closing member is formed integrally therewith. When the opening portion of the casing is closed with the closing member, both end faces in the longitudinal direction of the secondary core formed in the primary bobbin face to the inside peripheral surfaces of the primary core. A permanent magnet with its one face in contact with one end face of the secondary core is supported on the primary bobbin, while the other face of the permanent magnet is in contact with the primary core.

Ignition coil for internal combustion engines

The invention is directed to an ignition coil for use in an internal combustion engine. The ignition coil includes a center core which has a plurality of core members aligned. At least one permanent magnet is disposed between the core members. A primary winding and a secondary winding are mounting on the center core and permanent magnet. The permanent magnet is enclosed in the primary winding at least. An outer core having at least one core member is disposed around the primary winding and secondary winding. One end of the outer core is connected to one end of the center core, wheras the other end of the outer core is connected to the other end of the center core.
