An ink composition having excellent storage stability and curing properties after an image formation and an image forming method using the ink composition are provided. An ink composition including (A) a polymerizable compound represented by the following general formula (1) and (B) a polymerization initiator and an image forming method using the ink composition.  In the general formula (1), Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group. Rrepresents a liner or branched alkylene group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms. However, in R, it is not possible to have a structure in which an oxygen atom and a nitrogen atom which are bonded to both ends of Rare bonded to the same carbon atom of R. Rrepresents a divalent linking group. k represents 2 or 3. x, y and z each independently represent an integer of 0 to 6 and x+y+z satisfies 0 to 18.

Ink composition and image forming method

An ink composition includes a compound having a structure represented by the following Formula (I), a polymerization initiator and water; wherein, in Formula (I), Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; Xrepresents &#x2014;O&#x2014; or &#x2014;NH&#x2014;; Arepresents &#x2014;O&#x2014; or &#x2014;NH&#x2014;; Mrepresents a metal atom; and n represents an integer of from 1 to 10.

Ink composition, ink set and image forming method

An ink composition includes a polymerization initiator, water, and a modified polyallylamine or modified polyvinylamine having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond in a side chain thereof.

Provided is an image forming method including applying an ink that forms an image by inkjetting an ink composition containing coloring particles, a water-soluble polymerizable compound, a polymerization initiator and water onto a recording medium in which a base paper, a first layer containing a binder, and a second layer containing a white pigment are layered in this order, and a Cobb water absorption degree on a surface of the first layer placed on the base paper is 5.0 g/mor less as measured by a water absorption degree test according to JIS P8140 with a contact time of 15 seconds, and a water absorption amount on a surface of the second layer is 2 mL/mto 8 mL/mas measured by a Bristow method with a contact time of 0.5 seconds.

Image forming method

The present invention provides an ink composition including: a pigment, a water-soluble polymerizable compound (A) having an acrylamide structure in a molecule thereof, a water-soluble solvent (B), and water, in which a mass ratio of the polymerizable compound (A) and the water-soluble solvent (B) satisfies 1/10&#x2266;B/A&#x2266;2/3.
