A resin composition for extruded forms that has improved workability, and excellent properties with respect to transparency, heat resistance, low-temperature resistance, etc. The composition contains 50 to 99% by weight of component A, which is a copolymer of ethylene and &agr;-olefin, and 1 to 50% by weight of component B, which is an ethylene-containing polymer. The component A has: (a) a melt flow rate (MFR) of 0.1 to 5 g/10 min.; (b) a density D of 0.88 to 0.925 g/cm ; (c) a single peak of elution volume indicated by an elution curve obtained by temperature rising elution fractionation (TREF), the peak corresponding to a temperature within a range of from 30 to 100&reg;, and the elution curve satisfying a relationship in which the ratio H/W is not less than 1 when H represents the height of the peak and W represents the width of the elution curve at half of the height H; and (d) an elution volume Y (in % of the weight thereof with respect to the total weight of the component A) at an elution temperature of 50C in TREF, the elution volume Y satisfying the following condition: {circle around (1)} Y&lE;&minus;4500D&plus;4105 when the density D of the component A is less than 0.91 g/cm , but Y&lE;100; or {circle around (2)} Y&lE;10 when the density D of the component A is not less than 0.91 g/cm . The component B has: (a&prime;) a melt flow rate of 0.1 to 20 g/10 min.; (b&prime;) a density of 0.88 to 0.93 g/cm ; (c&prime;) a memory effect (ME) of not less than 1.3; and (d&prime;) a melt tension (MT) of not less than 1.0 g.

Resin composition for extruded forms

The present invention provides a propylene resin composition having an excellent balance between low-temperature impact resistance and rigidity, and which is suitable for automobile interior and exterior trim parts. The resin composition contains the following components A, B, and C:

Propylene resin composition

A resin composition containing 50 to 99% by weight of component A, which is a copolymer of ethylene and .alpha.-olefin, and 1 to 50% by weight of component B, which is a high-pressure low-density polyethylene. The component A has (a) a melt flow rate (MFR) of 2 to 30 g/10 min., (b) a density of not more than 0.935 g/cm.sup.3, and (c) a single peak of elution volume indicated by an elution curve obtained by temperature rising elution fractionation, the peak corresponding to a temperature within a range of from 20.degree. C. to 85.degree. C., and the elution curve satisfying a relationship in which the ratio H/W is not less than 1 when H represents the height of the peak and W represents the width of the elution curve at half of the height H. The component B has (a') a melt flow rate of 0.1 to 20 g/10 min., (b') a density of 0.915 to 0.93 g/cm.sup.3, ('c) a memory effect (ME) of not less than 1.6, and (d') a melt tension (MT) of not less than 1.5 g. The resin composition is advantageously usable as a laminate material having improved workability, and excellent properties with respect to low-temperature heat sealability, heat sealing strength and hot tack.

Resin composition for laminates

A resin composition for injection molding that has excellent transparency, and also has excellent strength and sufficient flexibility. The composition contains 50 to 99% by weight of component A, which is a copolymer of ethylene and .alpha.-olefin having a carbon number of not less than 4, and 1 to 50% by weight of component B, which is an olefin-containing polymer. The component A has: (a) a melt flow rate (MFR) of 10 to 120 g/10 min.; (b) a density (D) of not more than 0.915 g/cm.sup.3 ; and (c) at least one peak of elution volume indicated by an elution curve obtained by temperature rising elution fractionation (TREF), wherein the peak corresponds to a temperature of not more than 85.degree. C., and the elution curve may also indicate substantial elution volume at temperatures other than the temperature to which the peak corresponds.

Resin composition for injection molding

A polyethylene for an insulation layer of a power cable, of which the dissipation factor never increases even in a high-temperature, high electric field, and a crosslinked polyethylene insulated power cable which uses this polyethylene so that the high-temperature dielectric breakdown voltage is large enough for high-capacitance transmission. This polyethylene is a low-density polyethylene which is synthesized by high-pressure radical polymerization of ethylene, and has properties including: a melt flow rate of 0.1 to 10 g/10 minutes; a density of 0.915 to 0.935 g/cm.sup.3 ; an absorbance of 0.03 to 1.0 for a ketone-type carbonyl group, having a peak in a position corresponding to a wave-number of 1,725.+-.4 cm.sup.-1 in an infrared absorption spectrum, an absorbance of 1.0 or less for an ester-type carbonyl group, having a peak in a position corresponding to a wave-number of 1,743.+-.4 cm.sup.-1 and absorbances of less than 0.03 for other carbonyl groups; and/or a content of 3% by weight or less for components eluted at a temperature not lower than an elution temperature T (.degree.C.) calculated as T=687.times.D-547, where D (g/cm.sup.3) is the density of the low-density polyethylene, in a CFC measurement.

Polyethylene for an insulation layer of a power cable and a crosslinked

A process for producing an oriented blown film of a thermoplastic resin by blown film extrusion, carried out by blowing air into an extruded bubble of the resin extruded from a ring die to expand the bubble and cooling the expanded bubble with air from a cooling air ring, wherein blown film extrusion is carried out under such conditions that the ratio of (b) the final diameter of the expanded bubble to (a) the diameter of the bubble at the crystallizing temperature of the thermoplastic resin ((b)/(a)) ranges from 1.5 to 10. The process provides an oriented blown film excellent in strength, appearance, and heat shrinkage characteristics.

A filler-containing resin composition containing component A, which is an ethylene copolymer having (a) a melt flow rate (MFR) of 0.01 to 20 g/10 min.; (b) a density D of not more than 0.935 g/cm.sup.3 ; (c) a single peak of elution volume corresponding to a temperature within a range from 30 to 100.degree. C. with the elution curve satisfying a relationship in which the ratio H/W is not less than 1 when H represents the height of the peak and W represents the width of the elution curve at 1/2 H; and (d) an elution volume Y wherein (1) Y.ltoreq.-4500D+4105 when the density D of the component A is less than 0.91 g/cm.sup.3, but Y.ltoreq.100; or (2) Y.ltoreq.10 when the density D of the component A is not less than 0.91 g/cm.sup.3 ; and component B, which is a particulate inorganic filler having an average particle size of not more than 10 .mu.m, and a bulk density of 0.1 to 0.7 g/cm.sup.3 ; is provided which can be readily formed by stretching, and that is advantageously usable for the formation of thin formed bodies having excellent elastic recovery, strength and feeling, and also having very excellent gas-permeability.
