This invention provides an apparatus that associates a location where a terminal uses communication or travel route in use of the communication, with a connection destination of the terminal. The apparatus includes a communication log analyzer that aggregates communication logs collected by network apparatuses that constitute the mobile network and analyzes it. The communication log analyzer estimates travel route of the terminal connected the network using: log information generated by a base station to be connected to the terminal at the time of starting the connection, log information generated by a base station to be connected to the terminal at the time of a handover of the connection, and log information generated by a base station connected to the terminal at the time of detaching the connection.

A predetermined flow is extracted by a quality management server, and the extracted flow is summarized for each communication path. A gateway for interconnecting different networks includes a network access means for interconnecting a first network that provides a wireless access function to a mobile station with a second network that provides a network access function to the mobile station. The gateway further includes a first tunnel establishment means for establishing, in the first network, a first tunnel between the gateway and a base station accessing one or more mobile stations via wireless communications, for transmission of different packets to the respective mobile stations. The gateway further includes a second tunnel establishment means for establishing a second tunnel between the gateway and the second network, for packet transmission, a tunnel-mobile station connecting means for connecting the first tunnel with the mobile station, and a tunnel-to-tunnel interworking means for interworking the second tunnel with the first tunnel.

In femtocell operation, when a wireless communication terminal whose ID is not registered (ID unregistered terminal) has entered a femtocell's area, the disclosed invention prevents interference between the femtocell and the ID unregistered terminal and interference between the ID unregistered terminal and an ID registered radio communication terminal and prevents a decrease in the throughput of the femtocell and these terminals. In a radio coverage area formed by a radio base station, if a drop of received power from a radio communication terminal occurs and the frequency of reporting the ID of the base station now communicating with the terminal has become less than a given value, it is decided that the terminal is located indoors. For the terminal, if its handover to a femtocell was found to be rejected by MME, the terminal is temporarily permitted to be handed over to a femtocell.

Provided is an optical access system, including: an optical line terminal, a plurality of optical network units and an optical switching unit. The optical line terminal sends to the optical switching unit a control frame including a switching time when the optical switching unit is to make a switch from one of the optical communication paths between the optical line terminal and the plurality of optical network units to another, and an identifier of an optical communication path to which the switch is made in order to switch the optical communication paths between the optical line terminal and the plurality of optical network units. An access node run as a packet switching apparatus enables IP connection services for a plurality of access methods; e.g., relatively low-speed IP connection, high-speed IP connection, and mobile network IP connection. By using this apparatus of the present invention, cost can be reduced and upgrading to advanced access networks and access services is easily carried out. Provision of the above access nodes implements upgrade-type network services common for diverse protocols. Each access node retains a pathfinding table to which input port, input tunnel identifier and input session identifier entries in a set are registered per session. When routing a packet, by looking up the set of these entries matching with the packet, the associated output port, output tunnel identifier, and output session identifier are obtained. After processing for the packet, appropriate for one of the plurality of access methods and network services, the node forwards the packet over the routed path.

Label switching type of packet forwarding apparatus

A method serves to compose a VPN (Virtual Private Network) over a plurality of networks, each of which is managed by a different Internet Service Provider (ISP). When a packet with a first capsule header used for composing a VPN in a first ISP network is transmitted to a second ISP network, a route for outputting the packet to the second ISP network is determined based on the information both in the capsule header and in the IP header. In addition, a second capsule header used for composing a VPN in the second ISP network is determined based on the above information.

An input interface segments a variable length packet into plurality of fixed length cells and generates an internal switching information based on the header information of the variable length packet. The input interface transmits the information to a switch and, after that, transmits the cells as the following cells of the information to the switch. The switch performs switching processing to the succeeding cells based on the information. Therefore, the information is not added to the cells. When an input interface starts to transmit cells generated from a packet to its destination output interface through the switch, the switch is reserved until all the cells arrive at the output interfaces.
