A nonaqueous battery includes a positive electrode and a negative electrode. At least one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode includes a current collector, an intermediate layer, and an active material layer. The intermediate layer is interposed between the current collector and the active material layer and includes graphite particles and insulating particles. In a cross section of the intermediate layer in a thickness direction, a major axis diameter of the graphite particles is equal to or greater than the thickness of the intermediate layer. In X-ray diffraction measurement of the intermediate layer by an out-of-plane method, a ratio of an intensity of an 110 diffraction line of a graphite crystal to an intensity of a 002 diffraction line of the graphite crystal is 0.0011 or more.

A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes at least a positive electrode active material layer, a porous film, and a negative electrode active material layer. The negative electrode active material layer contains at least a graphite-based carbon material and silicon oxide. The porous film is interposed between the positive electrode active material layer and the negative electrode active material layer. The porous film contains at least a ceramic material. The negative electrode active material layer has a first spring constant. The porous film has a second spring constant. A ratio of the second spring constant to the first spring constant is higher than 1.

A nonaqueous battery includes a current collector that supports an electrode active material. The current collector includes a first layer, a second layer and a third layer. The second layer is interposed between the first layer and the third layer. The second layer includes 0.3 mass % or more and 1 mass % or less of magnesium and 0.2 mass % or more and 0.9 mass % or less of silicon, with a remainder being made up of aluminum. The first layer and the third layer constitute outer surfaces of the current collector. The first layer and the third layer each include 99.3 mass % or more of aluminum. In both of the first layer and the third layer, there is less than 0.3 mass % of magnesium and less than 0.2 mass % of silicon.

Nonaqueous battery

A positive electrode plate includes a positive electrode composite material layer. The positive electrode composite material layer contains at least a positive electrode active material and a flame retardant. The flame retardant contains phosphorus (P) or sulfur (S). The flame retardant has a thermal decomposition temperature not lower than 80&#xb0; C. and not higher than 210&#xb0; C. A value calculated by dividing a porosity (%) of the positive electrode composite material layer by an amount (mass %) of P and S contained in the positive electrode composite material layer is not smaller than 5 and not greater than 5000.

Positive electrode plate and non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery

A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes at least an electrode composite material layer, an intermediate layer, and an electrode current collector. The intermediate layer is arranged between the electrode composite material layer and the electrode current collector. The intermediate layer contains at least a foaming filler, a resin, and a conductive material. A value calculated by dividing an amount (mass %) of the foaming filler by an amount (mass %) of the resin is not smaller than 1.1 and not greater than 2.8 and a value calculated by dividing an amount (mass %) of the foaming filler by an amount (mass %) of the conductive material is not smaller than 8 and not greater than 14. The intermediate layer has a thickness not smaller than 2 &#x3bc;m and not greater than 7 &#x3bc;m.
