A silicon oxide-coated soft magnetic powder, in which the ratio of a volume-based cumulative 50% particle diameter D50 (HE) according to a dry laser diffraction particle size distribution analysis to the same particle diameter D50 (MT) according to a wet laser diffraction particle size distribution analysis is 0.7 or more, and a coverage ratio R defined by R=Si×100/(Si+M) (Si and M are molar fractions of Si and elements constituting the soft magnetic powder) is 70% or more is obtained by subjecting a slurry containing a soft magnetic powder containing 20 mass % or more of iron and a hydrolysate of a silicon alkoxide to a dispersion treatment when the surface of the soft magnetic powder is coated with the hydrolysate in a mixed solvent of water and an organic substance. The powder has good insulation/dispersibility properties and a high filling factor during molding.

Silicon-oxide-coated soft magnetic powder, and method for manufacturing same

A producing method of a solution that contains lithium, at least one of a niobium complex and a titanium complex, and ammonia, wherein an amount of the ammonia in the solution is 0.3 mass % or less. The solution is suitable for forming a coating layer capable of improving battery characteristics of an active material in a battery.

The active material composite powder includes an active material and lithium niobate attached onto the surface of the active material, and its BET specific surface area S [m/g] is 0.93&#x3c;S&#x3c;1.44, and the method for manufacturing an active material composite powder includes a spraying and drying step of spraying a solution including lithium and a peroxo complex of niobium onto the active material and at the same time drying the solution, and a heating treatment step of carrying out a heating treatment after the spraying and drying step, wherein the temperature of the heating treatment is higher than 123&#xb0; C. and lower than 350&#xb0; C.

Active material composite powder, lithium battery, and method for manufacturing the same

A positive electrode active material for a lithium ion secondary cell, in which the amount of a transition metal present in the vicinity of the outermost surface thereof is significantly decreased is provided. A solid electrolyte-coated positive electrode active material powder contains particles of a positive electrode active material for lithium ion secondary cell, containing a composite oxide of Li and a transition metal M, having on a surface thereof a coating layer of a solid electrolyte represented by LiAlTi(PO), wherein 0 &#xa3; X &#xa3; 0.5. An average proportion of a total atom number of Al, Ti and P in a total atom number of Al, Ti, M and P within an etching depth of 1 nm from the outermost surface determined by analysis in a depth direction with XPS is 50% or more. The transition metal M is, for example, at least one kind of Co, Ni and Mn.

Positive-electrode active-material powder and manufacturing method therefor

A production method capable of producing ITO particles without using a solvent with a high boiling point as a solvent used in the producing step by a simple treatment method without through a heating process in an atmosphere which disadvantageously causes sintering among the ITO particles to coarsen the ITO particles. An ITO powder suitable for a coating material for a transparent electroconductive material, being produced by a first step of dissolving salt containing indium and salt containing tin into an organic solvent, then adding to this organic solvent, an organic solvent containing a basic precipitant, to thereby manufacture a mixture of a precursor containing indium and tin, and the organic solvent; and a second step of applying heat treatment to the mixture of the precursor containing indium and tin, and the organic solvent in a pressurizing vessel at 200&#xb0; C. or more and 300&#xb0; C. or less, to generate ITO particles.

Method of producing ITO particles

ITO particles are provided, which are small in variations of particle diameters and used for an ITO coating material capable of forming a transparent conductive film having high transparency and low haze value. Also, ITO coating material is provided, containing such ITO particles, and a transparent conductive film containing such ITO particles. Further, ITO powders are provided, wherein 90% or more of ITO particles constituting the ITO powders have a primary particle diameter of 20 nm or less.

Alkaline battery silver oxide powder when soaked in a 50&#xb0; C. KOH 40% aqueous solution for 24 hours experiences dissolution of Ag into the solution of 40 mg/L. Alkaline battery silver oxide powder exhibits substantially no Ag peak by X-ray diffraction even after soaking in a 50&#xb0; C. KOH 40% aqueous solution for 72 hours. This powder has a crystallite size calculated from the half value breadth of the (111) plane peak by powder X-ray diffraction of greater than 250 Angstrom and equal to or less than 1000 Angstrom, particle diameter such that the average diameter of secondary particles is equal to or greater than 1 &#x3bc;m and equal to or less than 500 &#x3bc;m and that of primary particles forming the secondary particles is equal to or greater than 0.1 &#x3bc;m and equal to or less than 10.0 &#x3bc;m, and specific surface area of 5 m/g or less.

Silver oxide powder for alkaline battery and method of producing the same

Material for the positive electrode of batteries is provided that has good conductivity and can be manufactured more cheaply than AgNiO. The battery positive electrode material is a conductive chemical compound represented by the general formula AgNiO(wherein X/Y is smaller than 1 and not smaller than 0.25). The conductive chemical compound is constituted of a crystal that has an X-ray diffraction main peak that is the same as that of AgNiO(wherein X=Y=1), and does not exhibit a AgO or AgO peak. This conductive compound can be used as an additive to impart conductivity to the silver oxide (AgO) of the positive electrode material.

Battery positive electrode material

A material for the positive electrode of a silver oxide battery is provided that increases the discharge capacity of the battery. The positive electrode material is a conductive composite oxide represented by the general formula AgNiO, in which X/Y is greater than 1 and does not exceed 1.9, and by the general formula AgNiMO, in which M represents at least one of Cu and Bi, X/(Y+Z) is greater than 1 and does not exceed 1.9, and Z does not exceed 0.4. These conductive oxides contain almost no free AgO and have a crystal structure similar to that of AgNiO. As a result, the excess Ag&#x2014;Ni oxide is conductive and has a high discharge capacity.

A cathode active material for alkaline electrochemical cells comprising an Ag&#x2014;Bi-M-containing oxidation product produced by oxidizing with an oxidizing agent an Ag&#x2014;Bi-M-containing neutralized precipitate obtained by reacting inorganic acid salts of silver, bismuth and, optionally, M (M representing at least one metal selected from the group comprised of manganese, nickel and cobalt) with an alkali hydroxide in an aqueous medium; or comprising an Ag&#x2014;Bi-M-containing oxidation product obtained by reacting inorganic acid salts of silver, bismuth and, optionally, M with an alkali hydroxide in an aqueous medium and in the presence of an oxidizer.
