An image capturing apparatus includes an image capturing element, a fan, a foreign substance removal unit, and a control unit. The fan generates airflow for cooling the image capturing element. The foreign substance removal unit removes a foreign substance from an exposure surface of the image capturing element on an object side of an imaging plane. The control unit operates the foreign substance removal unit to remove a foreign substance adhered to the exposure surface after driving the fan.

An imaging apparatus, having an imaging element has top, bottom, front, and rear sides, includes exterior members, a control circuit on a control circuit board to control the imaging apparatus, a display panel on the rear side as one of the exterior members, and a heat release fan. The control circuit board and the display panel are arranged sequentially in a direction of an optical axis from the front side to the rear side. A duct having a vent formed on the duct rear side as one of the exterior members extends from the rear side to the front side and from the top side to the bottom side and connects to a bottom side vent formed on the bottom side as one of the exterior members. The heat dissipation fan is arranged inside the duct arranged in the area, the control circuit board, and the bottom surface side of the exterior member.

The present invention relates to a method for controlling carbon source concentration in the aerobic cultivation of a microorganism. The substrate carbon source remains at a low level in a cultivation vessel during the culture feeding in aerobic fed-batch, continuous or cell-recycling continuous cultures. This is accomplished by monitoring the increase in pH or dissolved oxygen content in the culture medium and adding the feed solution intermittently into a cultivation vessel at a calculated feed rate using a feed control device controlled by a computer. The present invention further relates to a process for producing L-lysine by fermentation having the advantages over the prior methods, those being improved productivity, higher concentrations of accumulated product, and increased yields of L-lysine.

The present invention is a method for aerobically cultivating yeast or bacteria in a culture medium of fed-batch, continuous or cell-recycling continuous cultures, wherein the carbon source concentration in the culture medium is maintained at a constant low level of under g/l.
