In a card connector of the present invention, an eject plate has a push-moving portion, an engaging portion and a spring portion, and can be switched to two positions by a heart cam. In an electric connecting state of the card and the connector, the eject plate is set to a second position, and its engaging portion is engaged with a notch formed in the card, and the release of the engagement is prevented by a guide wall, and no card can be pulled out even when strong pulling-out force is applied to the card (full lock). When the eject plate is moved from the second position to a first position by a tension spring, the card is pushed out by the push-moving portion. The engaging portion is also engaged with the notch of the card in this first position, but the release of the engagement is allowed by the wall portion, and the card can be pulled out by elastically deforming the spring portion (half lock).

Card connector

A connector includes a housing in which a recess having an opening on a rear face is provided, and a slider to be slid in the recess. A flexible substrate is inserted in the recess with the slider so that a contact on the flexible substrate is connected to a contact on the housing. On both sides of the slider, a pair of lock arms are provided for fixing the slider to the housing when the slider is fitted in the housing. Parts of the respective lock arms in the recess are exposed out of the housing at portions near both sides of the upper face of the housing when the slider is fitted in the housing, and either of the lock arms in the recess are not exposed out of the housing when the slider is not fitted in the housing. Each portion of the housing where each lock arm is exposed is provided near a corner portion where the upper face, a side face, and a front face of the housing are perpendicularly connected to each other.

Connector

To provide a floating connector wherein strengths against pull-out forces in the height direction are high and both housings are resistant to separation, the slide housing slides in any direction perpendicular to the height direction to reliably absorb the deviation in the position of the floating connector in relation to that of the counterpart connector without resulting in any defective contact with the counterpart contacts nor buckling of the contacts, the floating connector can be produced easily, and the floating connector has a high self-supportability through setting an appropriate rigidity of the contacts. It is a floating connector wherein the connecting parts of the contacts are pressed into the base housing, the contacting parts of the contacts are pressed into the slide housing, and both housings are so related to each other by means of protruding parts protruding in the width direction and grooves into which the protruding parts are inserted that both housings can slide in any directions perpendicular to the height direction.
