The present invention provides a glass fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin composition in which a particular relationship is satisfied between the glass fiber content (W (parts by weight)) and the melt viscosity (&#x3b7;) of the thermoplastic resin composition at molding temperature as determined at a shear rate of 1,000 sec. According to the present invention, there can be obtained a glass fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin having increased strength and rigidity and excellent in practical characteristics such as impact resistance and antifreeze liquid resistance. In addition, molded articles obtained by injection-molding the composition are available as components having reduced anisotropies of mechanical characteristics and mold shrinkage factor.

Glass-fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin composition and molded article thereof

The present invention provides a process for producing a polyamide resin composition, comprising the steps of: impregnating a molten polyamide resin into glass fiber rovings; taking off the polyamide-impregnated glass fiber rovings during twisting thereof to provide a strand; and pelletizing the strand to provide a resin composition, wherein a melt viscosity of the polyamide resin is set to fall within a particular range. According to the present invention, there can be provided a process for producing a glass fiber-reinforced polyamide resin composition excellent in the impregnation of the resin into the glass fiber rovings and capable of offering a molding excellent in mechanical strength and color tone.
