The detector in accordance with the present invention includes: a light emitter; a light receiver; and a light guiding member which includes a detection space for determining a state of a predetermined gas and is configured to guide light emitted from the light emitter to the at least one light receiver through the detection space. Detector

A printer according to the present invention includes a transfer roll and a plurality of the printing rolls. A sensor having a detecting part for detecting an environmental value representing change in physical amount of circumference environment by a fluid flowing into externally and a controlling part for discriminating abnormality in circumference environment based on the environmental value detected by the detecting part. A separating plate is provided inside a housing so as to separate two spaces in the height direction. A detection unit is provided in one space and a sounding body is provided in the other space. Apertures are provided in a side wall, thereby opening one space to the outside environment and letting the fluid to be measured flow into the space. Then, a flow path is formed inside the space in the housing, from the side wall forming the housing toward the detection unit, thereby proactively channeling the fluid to the detection unit.

Sensor

A radio communication system minimizes power consumption against noises. The system includes a first radio terminal (A) with a first transmitter (A) for transmitting a first data indicative of a specific event, and a second radio terminal (A) with a battery (B) and a receiver (B). The first radio terminal (A) includes a first bit interpolator (A) which inserts a check bit pattern of '01010101' at a predetermined cycle into one frame of the first data. The second radio terminal (B) has a second power controller (B) which intermittently activates the second receiver (B) at predetermined intervals in order to receive the bit-interpolated data from the first transmitter. A check bit detector (B) is included in the second radio terminal (B) to detect the check bit pattern from within the bit interpolated data and to issue a stop signal immediately upon occurrence of that the check bit pattern fails to appear at said predetermined cycle within a predetermined time frame shorter than one frame length of the first data. In response to the stop signal, the power controller of the second radio terminal terminates a current receiving operation.

Radio communication system

When a server unit is stopped by a failure, for example, and gives no response, and a monitor timer times out, an operation panel unit is switched to a proxy server. Then, the operation panel unit transmits request messages to the other operation panel units. The other operation panel units perform necessary operations, such as display and input operations, in accordance with the request messages. When the server unit recovers from the failure, the operation panel unit stops the proxy server function. Again, the server unit transmits request messages to the operation panel unit and the other operation panel units.

In-flight service system

An outboard engine unit having a cover halved into two. An undercover is made of a resin and halved into a left resin half and a right resin half. A lower mount cover is made of a resin and halved into a left resin half and a right resin half. The resin halves are formed so that when they are mated together, a gap is defined at a connection therebetween on a rear face side of the outboard engine unit. An elastic rubber member is filled in the gap.

Cover structure for outboard engine unit

A power saving wireless fire alarm system has a master station and a plurality of battery-powered fire detecting terminals linked for wireless communication with each other. Upon detection of a fire occurrence at one of the fire detecting terminals, the fire detecting terminal transmit a fire detection message to a master station which in turn transmit a wake-up message to the other fire detecting terminals and thereafter a fire information message which starts a multiple synchronous communication between the master station and the fire detecting terminals. Each fire detecting terminal has a power controller which selects an intermittent reception mode of activating its own receiver only intermittently until receiving the wake-up message or information indicative of the fire occurrence, and select a constant operation mode thereafter to make the fire detecting terminals be ready for the multiple synchronous communication commenced by the fire information message from the master station.

Wireless fire alarm system

An air intake passage system includes an external air intake port provided in a rear portion of a top cover and a passageway section projecting upwardly from the engine cover for directing taken-in external air to the engine. The top cover is provided over the engine cover with a gap therebetween such that the taken-in external air is allowed to flow into the passageway section and a water discharge section is provided between the engine cover and the top cover. Water, having entered together with external air, flows along the upper surface of the engine cover, bypasses the passageway section and is then discharged via the water discharge section.

Outboard engine unit

An outboard motor having an engine cover formed from a lower cover fixed to a casing and an upper cover joined to the lower cover at a first mating surface. A linear member lead-out part is formed from a case part integrally connected to the lower cover. The linear member lead-out part is closer to one side wall and projects forward from a front wall of the lower cover. A lid member is joined to the case part by a second mating surface disposed below the first mating surface. A water entrance chamber is formed in the lower cover and has front and rear walls defined by a pair of wall portions integrally provided with the lower cover while being spaced in a fore-and-aft direction. The water entrance chamber is disposed on the side on which a small gap is formed between the lid member and the lower cover.

Outboard motor

An outboard motor intake port system includes an internal cover mounted, from the inside, on an engine cover to form an intake chamber between the internal cover and the engine cover. The internal cover is integrally provided with a bottom plate portion facing the inner face of an upper part of the engine cover, a front wall portion extending upward from a front edge of the bottom plate portion and connected to the inner face of the upper part of the engine cover, and a pair of tubular portions extending upward from the bottom plate portion. The pair of tubular portions are arranged side by side so water that has entered the intake chamber via an intake port passes through the tubular portions. A pair of drain holes for discharging water are formed in the engine cover and communicate with the left and right front parts of the intake chamber.
