A power source apparatus for supplying power to a load includes a switch and a controller. The controller detects voltage applied to the switch. The controller further switches a state of the switch from OFF to ON when the detected voltage is equal to or smaller than a predetermined threshold value.

A plasma display panel is provided in which discharge connection in the column direction is prevented without increasing the number of man-hours in a formation process of a partition and without deteriorating ventilation for an exhaust process. A pattern in a plan view of a partition is made a mesh pattern in which vertical patterns are included at inter-row positions in each column. Each of first vertical walls is positioned at a boundary between columns, each of second vertical walls is arranged at a position away from a boundary between columns for each boundary between rows and each of horizontal walls is positioned at a boundary between rows. In the partition, a height of portions where the first vertical wall crosses the horizontal wall and a height of portions where the second vertical wall crosses the horizontal wall are smaller than a height of the other portions of the partition.

Mesh-pattern partitioned plasma display panel

A plasma display panel includes first and second substrates opposed to each other for defining a space filled with discharge gas, a screen made up of cells arranged in the row and column directions, display electrodes arranged on the first substrate, the display electrodes extending in the row direction, band-like partitions arranged in parallel on the second substrate for dividing the gas filled space into columns, and fluorescent material layers sticking to side faces of the partitions and inner surfaces between the partitions on the columns, each of the fluorescent material layers extending across cells. The thickness of the fluorescent material layer at a part sticking to the side face of the partition and overlapping with the display electrodes is designed to be smaller than the thickness at a part sticking to the side face of the partition in the vicinity of the surface discharge gap.

Plasma display panel and method for manufacturing the same

A plasma display panel and an imaging device realize a high luminous efficiency, a long lifetime and stable driving. The plasma display panel uses a discharge-gas mixture containing at least Xe, Ne and He. A Xe proportion of the discharge-gas mixture is in a range of from 2% to 20%, a He proportion of the discharge-gas mixture is in a range of from 15% to 50%, the He proportion is greater than the Xe proportion, and a total pressure of the discharge-gas mixture is in a range of from 400 Torr to 550 Torr. A width of a voltage pulse to be applied to an electrode serving as an address electrode is 2 &#x3bc;s or less.

Plasma display panel and imaging device using the same

A plasma display device is provided that can realize a stable progressive display using a plasma display panel that has a shared type arrangement form of display electrodes. A plasma display panel structure including display electrodes having a shape that has little variation of electrode area between cells and a driving sequence are combined in which the addressing step is divided into the first half and the second half. One of the first half addressing and the second half addressing is performed for a row on which the first display electrode is arranged that has an odd arrangement order when noting only the first display electrodes that are not used for row selection, and the other of the first half addressing and the second half addressing is performed for a row on which the first display electrode is arranged that has an even arrangement order.

Plasma display device

There are provided a plasma display panel and an imaging device which realize a high luminous efficiency, guaranteed long lifetime and stable driving. The plasma display panel uses a discharge-gas mixture containing at least Xe, Ne and He. A Xe proportion of the discharge-gas mixture is in a range of from 2% to 20%, a He proportion of the discharge-gas mixture is in a range of from 15% to 50%, the He proportion is greater than the Xe proportion, and a total pressure of the discharge-gas mixture is in a range of from 400 Torr to 550 Torr. A width of a voltage pulse to be applied to an address electrode is 2 &mgr;s or less.

A receiver includes two input terminals. A VHF broadcast signal over a 6-MHz band channel is inputted through one input terminal, while an FM broadcast signal over an approximate 100-kHz band channel is inputted through the other input terminal. The other input terminal is connected with a trap circuit for band width reduction. This trap circuit causes attenuation in signal components over channels close to a desired channel except that over the desired channel with a band of approximately 100 kHz. An analog switch inputs selectively the VHF broadcast signal and the FM broadcast signal attenuated in the signal components to a tuning circuit having a tuning band width of approximately 6 MHz. When an FM broadcast signal is selected, an FM broadcast signal only over a desired channel is outputted from the tuning circuit.
