An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, a fixing unit, a heating portion and a removal unit to remove a particulate dust generated due to vaporization of a parting agent by heat in the fixing unit. The removal unit includes a sheet-like filter provided with a base layer and a collecting layer laminated on the base layer for collecting dust. The removal unit includes a holding unit to hold the filter in a cylindrical shape with the base layer outside and the collecting layer inside. The removal unit includes a fan connected to one of opening end sides of the filter held in the cylindrical shape and generates an air flow inside of the cylindrical shape which causes air passing from outside of the filter to inside to flow toward the one of the opening end sides.

A control portion of an image forming apparatus causes an operation of a first fan start and then causes a second fan to start. The time when the operation of the second fan starts is from a predetermined time before the time when the leading end of one sheet reaches a fixing nip to the time when the rear end of the one sheet passes through the fixing nip. An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device configured to form, in a first position, a toner image on a sheet using toner containing a parting material; a fixing device configured to fix the toner image formed on the sheet by the image forming device in a second position, by heat and pressure; a fan configured to flow air along an air flow path between the image forming device and the fixing device; and a partition configured and positioned to substantially separate between the air flow path and a sheet feeding path from the first position to the second position.

A fixing apparatus includes: first and second rotatable members configured to heat-fix, at a nip therebetween, a toner image of toner containing a parting agent formed on a sheet; a casing, configured to accommodate the first and second rotatable members, including a sheet introducing opening and a sheet discharging opening; and a suppressing member configured to suppress diffusion, toward the sheet discharging opening, of particles having a predetermined diameter resulting from a parting agent in the neighborhood of the sheet introducing opening. The suppressing member is provided in the neighborhood of the sheet introducing opening so as to block diffusion between the casing and the first rotatable member.

Fixing apparatus

A fixing apparatus includes: first and second rotatable member configured to heat-fix, at a nip therebetween, an unfixed toner image formed on a sheet by using a toner containing a parting agent; a casing, configured to accommodate the first and second rotatable member, including a sheet introducing opening and a sheet discharging opening; and a suppressing portion configured to suppress diffusion, toward the sheet discharging opening, of particles having a predetermined diameter resulting from a parting agent in the neighborhood of the sheet introducing opening, wherein the suppressing portion is provided in a position of 0.5 mm or more and 3.5 mm or less from a surface of the first rotatable member in a space in the casing from the sheet introducing opening to the sheet discharging opening.

To remove also VOC gas generated from the discharged sheets, an image forming apparatus comprises an image forming unit which forms an image on a sheet; a tray on which sheets on which images are formed by the image forming unit are stacked; a suction device which sucks air from the surrounding space of sheets stacked up on the tray; and a VOC removing unit which removes VOC contained in the air sucked by the sucking device.

Provided is an image sensor that may reduce the number of external terminals for downsizing of a chip, generate a write signal (RE) of a Y address with one pulse, and employ an external circuit having the same configuration as that of the conventional example. The image sensor uses an X-Y address scanning system in a pixel element matrix, and includes: a register latch that sets a Y address for selection of a row according to a write signal; a Y address register that decodes a Y address data from the register latch to output a Y address signal for selection of the row in the pixel element matrix; and an X address control unit that generates an X address signal for selection of a column. The register latch brings the Y address register into a disenable state so as to cause the Y address register not to output the Y address signal at timing at which the write signal is input to the Y address register, and brings the Y address register into an enable state so as to cause the Y address register to output the Y address signal at timing at which the input of the write signal is completed and the Y address data is written into the Y address register.

Image sensor

An encryption device which is capable of preparing an encrypted document not easily deciphered by a third person. The encryption device encrypts information formed on a recording member on the basis of a predetermined encryption code. A surface of the recording member is irradiated with light. An image of the irradiated surface of the recording member irradiated with the light is taken. The encryption code is prepared on the basis of the taken image of the irradiated surface.
