The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and a method for information processing enabling alignment between imaged images to be more accurately performed. With respect to a detection result of a correspondence point between an imaged image including a pattern irradiated for alignment with other imaged image, and the other imaged image including the pattern, an evaluation value with which an occurrence rate of an error in the alignment when the imaged image and the other imaged image are composed with each other is evaluated is calculated; and an irradiated position of the pattern is updated on the basis of the evaluation value calculated. The present disclosure, for example, can be applied to an information processing apparatus, an irradiation device, an imaging apparatus, an irradiation imaging apparatus, a controller, an imaging system or the like.

The present technology relates to an encoding apparatus and an encoding method as well as a decoding apparatus and a decoding method that make it possible to improve the compression efficiency. The encoding apparatus transmits reduction filter information that reduces tap coefficients for individual ones of a plurality of classes determined by learning that uses a student image equivalent to a first image obtained by addition of a residual of prediction encoding and a prediction image and a teacher image equivalent to an original image corresponding to the first image. The decoding apparatus accepts the reduction filter information and performs prediction arithmetic operation using tap coefficients obtained using the reduction filter information to perform a filter process for the first image to generate a second image. The present technology can be applied, for example, an encoding apparatus and a decoding apparatus of an image.

A display control apparatus may include a necessary light emission level calculation unit that calculates a necessary attention block light emission level of a back light in an attention block which satisfies a necessary luminance based on an image signal. A first neighborhood block light emission level calculation unit may calculate a light emission level of first neighborhood blocks which satisfies a deficient luminance by a light emission contribution amount to the attention block through light emission in first neighborhood blocks of the attention block which satisfies the deficient luminance by the back light in the attention block. The present invention relates to a display control apparatus and method, and a program that are capable of appropriately controlling the luminance of light to be emitted by backlights with simple processing. On the basis of an input image signal, a peripheral-representative-value computation unit () computes, as a peripheral representative value, luminance that is output by backlights of a block of interest and blocks in the periphery thereof among the backlights formed from a plurality of blocks. A peripheral-contribution-amount computation unit () divides the peripheral representative value by light-emission efficiency based on a light-emission profile that is an output luminance distribution when the block of interest emits light so as to compute the amount of peripheral contribution by peripheral blocks to the block of interest. A light-emission level computation unit () computes the backlight luminance as a light-emission level by dividing a necessary amount of light emission of the block of interest by the amount of peripheral contribution. The present invention can be applied to a display device, such as a liquid-crystal display.

An image display apparatus displaying an image on a panel having pixels each including a plurality of subpixels of different colors includes an interpolation operator interpolating consecutive sampling values of input color data supplied to drive the panel to correct phases of the input color data on the basis of positions of the subpixels in each pixel and output pieces of color data; a correction unit correcting signal levels of the output color data on the basis of associated predetermined gains; an angle information calculator calculating, for each pixel or subpixel, a direction of a viewer of the panel on the basis of a position of the viewer relative to the panel; and a gain setting unit setting, for the pieces of input color data, the gains so as to correct luminance levels of the subpixels, which change depending on the viewing direction, on the basis of the calculation result.

The present invention relates to a display control apparatus and method, and a program which make it possible to prevent deterioration in image quality due to insufficient luminance of light from a backlight. A backlight luminance calculating section () finds the backlight luminance of light to be radiated by a backlight, on the basis of the image signal of a display image. A moving image determining section () determines whether or not the display image is a moving image on the basis of the image signal. A correction value calculating section () increases the last correction value by a predetermined value to obtain a new correction value when the display image is a moving image, and decreases the last correction value by a predetermined value to obtain a new correction value when the display image is a still image. An addition section () adds the correction value to the backlight luminance to correct the backlight luminance. The present invention can be applied to a liquid crystal display apparatus.

The present invention relates to a display control apparatus and method, and a program which make it possible to suppress deterioration in the image quality of an image. A backlight luminance calculating section () finds the backlight luminance of light to be radiated by a backlight, on the basis of the image signal of an image. A display apparatus for displaying color images on a screen by projecting each-color image beams modulated with a display device includes a memory storing correction data exhibiting a registration deviation amount on the screen; a displacement calculating unit calculating the registration deviation amount every one pixel of at least one-color signal based on the correction data stored in the memory; a correcting unit correcting the signal level of the one-color signal so that the signal level becomes in proportion to a brightness level on the screen; and a registration deviation correcting unit correcting the registration deviation of the one-color signal every one pixel by interpolation arithmetic processing of the color signal corrected with the correcting unit based on the registration deviation amount calculated with the displacement calculating unit, wherein the display device of the corresponding color is driven by the color signal corrected with the registration deviation correcting unit.

The specific area is an edge portion, a portion where a luminance level gradually changes, or a repeated-pattern portion where a spatial frequency is high.

A circularly polarized cross dipole antenna according to the present invention comprises a first L-shaped dipole antenna element including a first pair of strip conductors and a first bending portion and a second L-shaped dipole antenna element including a second pair of strip conductors and a second bending portion. The first L-shaped dipole antenna element is arranged in a first region of four regions delimited by crossing lines virtually set within a single plane and the second L-shaped dipole antenna element is arranged in a second region thereof which is diagonally opposite to the first region.
