A fuel cell includes a sheet-shaped solid electrolyte which exhibits ion conductivity, a fuel electrode to which is supplied fuel functioning as a negative electrode active material, and an oxygen electrode to which is supplied oxygen functioning as a positive electrode active material. The fuel electrode is positioned on one surface of the solid electrolyte while the oxygen electrode is positioned on the opposite surface of the solid electrolyte. A fuel electrode electricity collector has a plurality of first projection portions that contact the surface of the fuel electrode that faces away from the solid electrolyte. As a result, a plurality of fuel passages are formed through which fuel is to be passed. An oxygen electrode electricity collector has a plurality of second projecting portions that contact the surface of the oxygen electrode facing away from these solid electrolyte. As a result, a plurality of oxygen passages are formed through which oxygen is to be passed. At least one of the first projecting portions or one of the second projecting portions is provided with a curved portion. This results in an improvement in the electrical collectability of the fuel cell.

A fuel cell includes a sheet-shaped solid electrolyte having opposite surfaces, and exhibiting ion conductivity, a plurality of fuel electrodes disposed adjacent to each other on one of the opposite surfaces of the solid electrolyte, to which fuel working as a negative electrode active material is supplied, a plurality of oxygen electrodes disposed adjacent to each other on the other one of the opposite surfaces of the solid electrolyte, to which oxygen working as a positive electrode active material is supplied, the fuel electrodes being electrically connected to the oxygen electrodes in series. The fuel cell is downsized and lightweighted, but can produce a high voltage output, because a plurality of fuel and oxygen electrodes are disposed on one cell. A plurality of the cells can laminated so as to face the same electrodes of the neighboring cells. The cell can further include an electricity collector, a cooling member, or a separator which is laminated on at least one of the fuel and oxygen electrodes.

Since the vibrational energy of the resonator is conveyed to the movable member as the acoustic radiation pressure by way of the medium, the present energy converter exhibits an excellent energy conversion efficiency. Namely, the loss is reduced during the conversion of the vibration of the resonator into the driving force for the movable member, and accordingly the present energy converter exhibits a high conversion efficiency. The present energy converter may further include a stator adapted for holding the stator thereto and disposing the liquid therein. If such is the case, the energy converter can be applied to liquid media.

The intermediate frame member is cut and provided with an adjusting or clamping screw so that it can be clamped around the inner frame member with a cloth held therebetween. The outer frame member is similar to the intermediate frame member and provided with an adjusting or clamping screw so that it is clamped around intermediate frame member. A control system allows an automatic parallel operation of a plurality of embroidery sewing machines each in accordance with individual pattern sewing control data. The control system essentially comprises a group of random access semiconductor memories capable of storing a plurality of sets of pattern sewing control data, each of which permits a single pattern sewing to be completed, a plurality of branch electronic controllers each associated with a different one of the sewing machines, and a single main electronic controller for reading one or several blocks of pattern sewing control data from the semiconductor memory and supplying it to the branch controller. The branch controller feeds a request for data supply to the main controller in timed relationship with the operation of the sewing machine. In response to such request, the main controller supplies the data by reading it from the semiconductor memory at an address which is determined by the pattern number of the particular sewing machine which is preset on an operating panel and an address count which is updated as the machine sewing operation proceeds. The main controller is formed by a microcomputer while the branch controller is formed by a microcomputer having a memory or an electronic read-write controlling circuit which includes a buffer memory.

A control apparatus for the embroidery sewing machine which comprises at least two D.C. servomotors for providing controlled power output for driving an embroidery frame, one pair of sensors responsive to rotation of the servomotors for providing detect signals in the form of feedback signals, a presettable counter located at pre-stage to a servomotor drive output amplifier circuit and having an input of the feedback signals in the form of up/down signals, the presettable counter containing a preset value for one stitch operation and counting up or down toward making the preset value zero according to the feedback signal resulting in a residual value if the servomotors are incompletely actuated, and correcting means for superposing the residual value in the counter with a value to be set therein for the next succeeding stitch operation, whereby integral accumulation of errors due to incomplete actuation of each servomotor for each stitch operation can be effectively eliminated. The control apparatus further includes indicator elements which tell the appropriate operation in progress and the completion thereof, and control keys which permit a repetitive operation including a return and an advance, a stop, etc. as required.

A speed control device for a sewing machine includes at least means for providing a speed reference voltage signal, means for producing a motor speed voltage signal responsive to an actual speed of the driving motor, and means for comparing the speed reference voltage signal with the motor speed voltage signal to provide a speed difference signal. A motor control system for one stitch sewing control of a sewing machine is disclosed. Motor speed is controlled by controlling the trigger phase of motor drive thyristors. Two needle position detectors are employed to detect the arrival of the sewing needle at predetermined halt positions. A pair of motor speed indication signal generator circuits, a pair of memory circuits and a start pulse generator circuit are employed. When the one stitch sewing mode is selected and the foot controller is forced down, the first memory circuit memorizes the start of one stitch sewing and energizes the first motor speed indication signal generator circuit so as to drive the motor of the sewing machine at a predetermined sewing speed. When the first needle position detector detects the arrival of the sewing needle at the lowered halt position, it deenergizes the first memory circuit and the first motor speed indication signal generator circuit, and energizes the second memory circuit for energizing the second motor speed indication signal generator circuit so as to drive the motor at a predetermined lower sewing speed. When the second needle position detector detects the arrival of the sewing needle at the raised halt position, it deenergizes the second memory circuit and the second motor speed indication signal generator circuit. Deenergization of the second memory circuit causes a brake command signal which activates a brake means.

Motor control system for one stitch sewing control of a sewing machine

A motor control system for sewing a machine is disclosed in which motor drive thyristors, a trigger phase control circuit for the thyristors to control motor speed, and a dynamic brake control circuit means are employed. The dynamic brake control circuit means includes a shunt thyristor connected in parallel with the armature winding of the motor, and a brake command circuit which triggers the shunt thyristor so as to stop the motor by dynamic braking force. The brake command circuit is energized and triggers the shunt thyristor when a stop command signal and a deceleration detection signal are supplied. Thus dynamic braking of the motor of a sewing machine can be accomplished at a predetermined lower speed. To use the motor as a dynamo for dynamic braking stop control of the motor, a trigger phase clamp circuit is employed. To stop the motor at predetermined halt positions, a timer circuit, a predetermined constant trigger phase command signal generator circuit, and needle position detectors are employed. The timer circuit is energized by the stop command signal and generates a signal in a predetermined time interval, by which the generator circuit is energized and controls the trigger phase of motor drive thyristors to decelerate the motor. The brake command circuit triggers the shunt thyristor when motor speed is within a predetermined threshold level and the needle position detectors detect the lowered halt position or the raised halt position of the sewing needle or thread take-up lever.

A motor control system for a sewing machine is disclosed in which motor drive thyristors, a trigger phase control circuit for the thyristors, a comparator circuit for generating a trigger phase indication signal to accelerate or decelerate the motor to an indicated speed which corresponds to force downward on a foot controller, needle position detector means, a brake command circuit, and a predetermined constant trigger phase command circuit are employed. The predetermined constant trigger phase command circuit, which is energized by a stop signal from the foot controller, supplies a predetermined trigger phase indication signal to the trigger phase control circuit to lower the motor speed. The brake command circuit generates, at the time when the needle position detector means detects the sewing needle at a predetermined halt position, a brake command signal. The brake command signal is supplied to a brake means, e.g., dynamic brake means, mechanical brake means, etc., to stop the sewing needle or thread take-up lever at a predetermined 'halt' or stop position. A timer circuit is preferably connected between the foot controller and the predetermined constant trigger phase command circuit to deenergize the predetermined constant trigger phase command circuit and stop the motor after a predetermined time interval. This timing operation of the timer circuit prevents overheating of the motor when the sewing needle stops accidentally before reaching the predetermined halt position.
