The present invention relates to a method of suppressing coloration of catechins, which contains adding, to catechins, a water-soluble polymer forming a water-insoluble complex with catechins, as well as hydrogel particles containing a water-insoluble complex between catechins and a polymer forming a water-insoluble complex with catechins. Further, the present invention relates to a dentifrice composition containing hydrogel particles containing catechins and a polymer forming a water-insoluble complex with catechins, a binder and water.

Method of suppressing coloration of catechins and a dentifrice composition

Hydrogel particles include: a continuous phase of non-crosslinked hydrogel; and a dispersed phase dispersed in the continuous phase. The dispersed phase includes a crystalline organic UV absorber and a solid fat having an organic value (OV) of 310 or more and an inorganic value (IV) of 130 or more on an organic conceptual diagram. The content of the crystalline organic UV absorber in the dispersed phase is 15-70 mass %.

Hydrogel particles

A pearly luster composition containing a fatty acid glycol ester and water, and further containing any one selected from the group consisting of (1) a polyoxyalkylene nonionic surfactant and a fatty acid contained in an amount of from 0.3 to 3% by weight of the pearly luster composition, (2) a polyoxyalkylene nonionic surfactant and an aliphatic alcohol contained in an amount of from 0.3 to 3% by weight of the pearly luster composition, (3) a fatty acid monoglyceride contained in an amount of from 0.3 to 3% by weight of the pearly luster composition, and (4) an aliphatic ether contained in an amount of from 0.3 to 3% by weight of the pearly luster composition, as a crystallization additive. The pearly luster composition of the present invention is suitably used for shampoos, conditioners, body shampoos, liquid detergents, and the like.

Pearlescent composition

Hydrogel particles include a continuous phase portion of non-crosslinked hydrogel and disperse phase portions dispersed in the continuous phase portion. Each of the disperse phase portions contains a solid oil and a liquid oil as an oil component, and titanium oxide particles dispersed therein. The solid oil of the oil component contains a higher alcohol and a solid paraffin, and the content of the solid oil in the disperse phase portion is 1 to 12 mass %. The hydrogel particles have a volume-average particle diameter of 10 to 300 &#x3bc;m.

A hydrogel particle contains a continuous phase portion of non-crosslinked hydrogel and a large number of disperse phase portions dispersed in the continuous phase portion. Each of the large number of disperse phase portions is a solid phase containing an oil component and particles of zinc oxide dispersed therein.

Hydrogel particle

The present invention relates to hydrogel particles containing bubbles and having a specific gravity of 0.7 to 1.00 and an average particle diameter of 50 to 500 &#x3bc;m, as well as a process for producing the same. The hydrogel particles may also contain hollow inorganic particles.

A method for producing a pearly luster composition containing pearly luster particles (A) containing a fatty acid glycol ester (a1) and a fatty acid glycol ester (a2) having a melting point higher than the melting point of the fatty acid glycol ester (a1), and a surfactant (B), wherein the method includes the steps of (i) solubilizing the fatty acid glycol ester (a2) in the presence of the surfactant (B); (ii) mixing the solubilized solution obtained in the step (i) with a molten fatty acid glycol ester (a1), to emulsify the mixture; and (iii) cooling the emulsified mixture obtained in the step (ii), to precipitate the pearly luster particles (A); a pearly luster composition obtained by the method; and a shampoo containing the pearly luster composition. The pearly luster composition obtained by the present invention is suitably used for shampoos, conditioners, body shampoos, liquid detergents, and the like.

Method for production of pearlescent composition comprising a fatty acid glycol ester mixture

The present invention relates to a cycloalkanone composition which contains cycloalkanone (1) in an amount of 70 wt % or more based on the composition, wherein the content of a dimer of a cycloalkanone represented by formula (2) is 0.055 or less in terms of weight ratio to the cycloalkanone (1), a process for producing the same, a process for producing a composition containing alkyl acetate (5) by using the cycloalkanone composition, and an alkyl acetate composition obtained by the process wherein n is an integer of 1 or 2, Rand Reach represent H, a C1 to C8 alkyl group etc., and Rrepresents a C1 to C3 alkyl group.

Cycloalkanone composition

The present invention provides a process for producing 2-(1-hydroxyalkyl)cycloalkanone and/or 2-(1-hydroxyaryl)cycloalkanone in high yield and selectivity, as well as a process using the same to produce a cycloalkanone derivative useful as a perfume material and a physiologically active substance. Disclosed is a process for producing compound (3), which includes subjecting a cycloalkanone, and aldehyde (2) containing carboxylic acid (1), to aldol condensation in the presence of water and a basic catalyst, wherein the molar amount (referred to hereinafter as A) of the basic catalyst added is not less than the molar amount (referred to hereinafter as B) of the carboxylic acid (1) contained in the aldehyde (2) and the difference between A and B, that is, (A&#x2212;B) is 0.06 mol or less per mol of the aldehyde (2), as well as a process for producing compounds (7) and (8) by using the compound (3) obtained by the above process. wherein n is an integer of 1 or 2, Rrepresents H or a C1 to C8 alkyl group or the like, and Rrepresents a C1 to C3 alkyl group.

This invention provides a process for producing a pyran efficiently with high productivity and simplified production facilities.
