A gas generator is provided in which partitions for forming a plurality of gas-generation chambers are easily mounted. A detonator disposed in a booster tube is ignited by an initiator for the booster tube. A gas-generating agent disposed above or below a partition plate reacts to the reaction gas from the detonator, and a gas passes through a filter and is ejected through gas outlets. Booster tubes include larger diameter portions at the upper portions of the booster tubes, and smaller diameter portions at the lower portions of the booster tubes. The larger diameter portions are formed in a diameter-enlarging process. During formation of the gas generator, the booster tubes are individually inserted into holes of the partition plate from the smaller diameter portions of the booster tubes.

Gas generator

An navigation apparatus records a deviation point as a new search point for activating a rerouting function during a route guidance process. When the deviation point exists along or near a set route, it is predicted that a vehicle will travel away from the set route at the deviation point. When a current location is within a predetermined distance from the deviation point, the rerouting function is activated to automatically search for a new route starting from the deviation point.

Navigation apparatus and rerouting method

An information retrieving apparatus is advantageously used in a voice operation of a vehicle navigation system. The apparatus includes a storage unit for storing the plural pieces of the candidate information composing a hierarchical structure including m hierarchies (m is a natural number not less than 2), and the apparatus retrieves a target information from the hierarchical structure. The apparatus includes an input unit for inputting information, a judging unit for judging a correspondence of the inputted information with one of the plural pieces of the candidate information and for judging the hierarchy of the candidate information if the correspondence is obtained, and a retrieving unit for retrieving one of the plural pieces of the candidate information as a target information based on a judged result of the judging unit.

Apparatus for and method of retrieving information

An information retrieval system which can search for requested information by an easy operation. Together with a plurality of information servers, a search assisting server having list data constructed by a list of identifiers to access each of the information servers is connected to an information network. In response to a designation of a requested item by an information retrieval terminal, the identifier corresponding to the requested item is searched for from the list data held in the search assisting server. An access to the information network is made by the searched identifier, thereby obtaining the requested information page.

A gas generating apparatus is provided which includes a plurality of combustion chambers and a filter chamber. The filter chamber contains a filter which includes a region which is not substantially heated by combustion gases generated by one combustion chamber and which receives combustion gases subsequently generated in another combustion chamber. In this fashion, a high gas cooling efficiency is achieved. The gas generating apparatus has an upwardly-opening vessel-shaped base and a downwardly-opening vessel-shaped cup which when combined form an outer shell of combustion chambers. A filter cap is fixed to the upper side of the cup, thereby defining the filter chamber. A first combustion chamber is positioned outside a pipe through the base and a second combustion chamber is formed inside the pipe. A foil on the inner surface of the filter chamber prevents combustion gases emitted by one combustion chamber entering another combustion chamber.

Gas generating apparatus

A gas generating apparatus is provided which includes a first combustion chamber having a first opening and a second combustion chamber having a second opening. Each of the combustion chambers contains an ignitor and a propellant. A filter chamber that accommodates a filter is provided. The filter chamber is separated from each of the combustion chambers. The apparatus is configured so that a combustion gas produced in the first combustion chamber exits through the first opening and enters a first portion of the filter chamber without passing through the second chamber. The second combustion chamber extends through the filter chamber and the first combustion chamber.

A vessel for a gas generator is formed of a cylindrical body, and at least one partition wall situated inside the body to divide the interior of the body into a plurality of chambers. The partition wall has a plastic deforming portion at an outer periphery thereof, which closely contacts an inner peripheral surface of the vessel by causing plastic deformation in a diameter-increasing direction. The partition wall can be easily secured to the vessel, and the vessel can be manufactured at a low cost.

A navigation system is provided with: an operation section that selects a scheduled route along which a vehicle is scheduled to move; a system controller that searches for a different route while the vehicle is moving along the scheduled route, the different route serving to reach a destination for which the mobile unit moves along the scheduled route, and compares the searched different route with the scheduled route for movement of the vehicle from a current position of the vehicle onward; and a display section that gives notice of a comparison result obtained by the controller.
