A connector has contacts, a housing holding the contacts, and a holder member fixed to the housing and is adapted to be fitted with a mating connector along a predetermined fitting direction. The housing has a first lateral portion on a side fitted with the mating connector and a second lateral portion on the other side opposite thereto. Each of the contacts has contact press-fit portions press-fitted into the housing from the side of a second lateral portion. The holder member has a restricting portion which is arranged adjacent to the contact on the side of the second lateral portion in the fitting direction and which restricts movement of the contact toward the second lateral portion.

Connector

The connector for on-board mounting includes a housing body having multiple contacts, metal locking engagement members each having a locking portion to be engaged with a locked engagement member provided to a cable-side connector for a purpose of locking a connection between connectors and being fixed to the housing body and a metal outer shell member covering a side wall of a front portion of the housing body and provided with opening portions through which the locking engagement members pass. The opening portion of the outer shell member is provided such that an edge thereof which faces the opening portion and the locking engagement member are brought into contact with each other and the locking engagement members and the outer shell member are provided with board-connecting posts on rear portions to be disposed on a board.

Connector for on-board mounting

In a connector including at least one contact and a housing holding the at least one contact, a locking member is received in a lock receiving portion of the housing and serves to lock a fitted state with a mating connector. The locking member includes a shaft portion. The lock receiving portion includes a bottom surface faced to the shaft portion in its axial direction and a side surface for guiding rotation of the shaft portion. At least one of the locking member and the lock receiving portion includes a spring portion pressing the shaft portion towards the bottom surface.

Electrical connector

In a floating connector () including a fitting portion () and a fixed portion (), a supporting mechanism () is connected to the fitting portion and the fixed portion to support the fitting portion to the fixed portion so that the fitting portion may float in a fitting direction () of a mating connector (). A floating control mechanism () is arranged between the fitting portion and the fixed portion. When the mating connector is not fitted to the floating connector, the floating control mechanism locks or inhibits the floating of the fitting portion. However, the floating control mechanism enables the floating of the fitting portion in response to a fitting operation of the mating connector to the floating connecter. Use of the mating connector causes motion of a slide plate () and rotation of a stopper () about an axis () and results in release of the fitting portion () to enable it to float in a selected direction. A metal ground plate () may be attached to the contact assembly and selected contacts () folded back to engage the ground plate (FIG.B).
