A rotating electric machine includes a stator and a rotor. The rotor includes a rotor core and a plurality of permanent magnets. The rotor core includes a plurality of core portions. The rotor core includes an annular portion and a plurality of coupling portions. Each of the plurality of coupling portions couples the annular portion and a first core portion of each of the plurality of core portions to each other. Each of the plurality of coupling portions has at least one coupling path. A sum of a width of a portion having the smallest width in at least one coupling path is smaller than a length of a joining boundary between the annular portion and each of the plurality of coupling portions.

A first terminal portion of a first terminal wire of one divisional coil, and a second terminal portion of a second terminal wire of another divisional coil, extend from the entrance side or the bottom side of a slot so as to be directed upward in the axial direction and arranged side by side in the radial direction of a stator on the upper side in the axial direction of a stator core. The end of the first terminal portion and the end of the second terminal portion are joined to each other by a joining part. At least one of the first terminal portion and the second terminal portion leading to the joining part has an engagement portion for positioning the first terminal portion and the second terminal portion with each other in the circumferential direction and the radial direction.

A stator coil is formed by: combining a first division coil which is a coil with two or more turns and disposed in slots and in which a first terminal end portion and a second terminal end portion are formed, a second division coil which is a coil with a number of winding turns decreased from that of the first division coil by 0.5 turns and disposed in the slots and in which a first terminal end portion is formed, and a joint coil which is a coil with one turn and disposed in the slots and in which a first terminal end portion and a second terminal end portion are formed so as to be extended to the outside; and selectively joining the terminal end portions of these coils.

A stator in which stator coils are formed by a plurality of unit coils arranged so as to be shifted from each other in the circumferential direction and each having: a first slot-accommodated portion; a second slot-accommodated portion; a first terminal wire extending from the first slot-accommodated portion; a second terminal wire extending from the second slot-accommodated portion and shifted from the first terminal wire by one line of a conductive wire; a terminal-side coil end portion; and first and second anti-terminal-side coil end portions, wherein the first terminal wire and the second terminal wire of the respective different unit coils are joined with each other.

A rotary electric machine includes: a rotor; and a stator including: a stator core; and an armature winding that is mounted to the stator core. The armature winding includes by a plurality of identical-phase winding portions in which identical-phase coil portions among coil portions in which conducting wires are wound in concentration onto respective teeth are connected together into a series circuit by crossover wires, and that also have lead wires at two end portions. Each of the lead wires of each of the identical-phase winding portions is led out in a first axial direction of the rotor from coil portions that have identical phase, that are disposed to be adjacent in a circumferential direction of the stator core; and all of the crossover wires of each of the identical-phase winding portions are led out in a second axial direction of the rotor.

Bridge portions forming coil end portions, at both ends in an axial direction, of a stator of the rotating electrical machine according to the present invention are configured coaxially about an axis of the stator; at least one bridge portion of the bridge portions of each coil at both ends in the axial direction is located outward of an inner peripheral surface of the stator; and a gap is present between an end surface of a stator core in the axial direction and each bridge portion.
