An electronic apparatus includes a display unit, a communication unit configured to read, from another electronic apparatus having a plurality of operation modes, information regarding a current operation mode of the another electronic apparatus, and a controller configured to select a user interface screen which is displayed on the display unit in accordance with the information regarding the operation mode read by the communication unit.

Electronic apparatus for communicating with another apparatus

A reflection mixing member () has an alignment in which light from a first light source is incident on a reflecting surface () and light from a second light source is incident on a reflecting surface (). A relationship between a pitch Wp, which is a pitch between portions (triangular prisms) respectively formed of the reflecting surface () and the reflecting surface () in the reflection mixing member (), and a lens pitch Wf is set to be (Wp/Wf&#x2260;1). As a result, light fluxes of respectively different distribution are incident on each lens portion of fly's eye lens, so that it is possible to prevent luminance non-uniformity in light incident on a liquid crystal display panel () from being generated and prevent color non-uniformity from being generated on a screen at the same time.

A panel driverstarts to feed a pixel-driving signal in the succeeding frame to a pixel existing at a position, through which an illuminating area passes, on each of the liquid crystal display panelsR,G, andB.

Projection type video display unit and illuminating device

An ion wind generator is arranged in the vicinity of a light source. The ion wind generator allows an air flow by negatively ionizing air by corona discharges using negative side needle electrodes, and drawing the negatively-ionized air using a ground side mesh electrode. High-temperature air surrounding the light source is drawn by the air flow and exhausted from an exhaust port at a rear side of a casing. An ozone decomposition catalyst filter is provided in the exhaust port. Ozone (O) is generated by the corona discharges in the ion wind generator. However, the ozone is decomposed by passing through the ozone decomposition catalyst filter provided at the exhaust port.

Projection type image display unit

A color separating and mixing element comprises, in its transparent cube, a first optical function surface formed on a dividing surface for dividing the cube into two triangular prisms and a second optical function surface formed on another dividing surface. The first optical function surface has the function of transmitting both P-polarized light and S-polarized light with respect to red light, has the function of transmitting both P-polarized light and S-polarized light with respect to green light, and has the function of transmitting P-polarized light and reflecting S-polarized light with respect to blue light. The second optical function surface has the function of transmitting P-polarized light and reflecting S-polarized light with respect to red light, has the function of transmitting P-polarized light and reflecting S-polarized light with respect to green light, and has the function of transmitting both P-polarized light and S-polarized light with respect to blue light.

Color separating and mixing element, video light producing device, and projection type video display

An ion wind generator () is arranged on one side of a light source (). The ion wind generator () produces an air current by negatively ionizing air by corona discharges at a needle electrode (), or negative side, and drawing the negatively-ionized air at a cylindrical electrode (), or positive side. The air current blows toward the light source () and removes heat generated by the light source (). An ultraviolet ray from the light source () is introduced to a vent of the ion wind generator () by a first dichroic mirror () and a ultraviolet ray reflection mirror (). Though air exhausted from the vent includes ozone (o) produced by corona discharges, the ozone is decomposed by the ultraviolet ray.

Projection type video display

Each light path changing member forms a first light flux by reflecting a half of light flux emitted from a particular area (central area or peripheral area) of light source in one direction using a polarizing beam splitter, and forms a second light flux by reflecting the other half of light flux, which has passed through the beam splitter, in the afore-mentioned direction using the first mirror. Then, each light path changing member transmits a half of a light flux emitted from the other light source and guided by the second mirror in the same direction as that in which the first light flux has been guided using the polarizing beam splitter, and superposes the light flux on the aforementioned first light flux, and reflects the other half of light flux, which has been reflected by the beam splitter, in the aforementioned direction using the first mirror, and superposes the light flux on the second light flux.

Illuminating device and projection type video display

There is provided a single panel type video display capable of increasing the luminance of image. A color separator separates light from a light source into light beams in three colors in a band shape to emit the light beams and introduces the band-shaped light beams in the three colors so as to be overlapped with one another in a predetermined region. A lens array wheel has a plurality of functional units each composed of a convex lens of a size corresponding to the predetermined region, circularly passes the plurality of functional units each composed of the convex lens through the predetermined region, and scrolls the band-shaped light beams in the three colors in a state where they are divided among regions on a single liquid crystal display panel. A video signal is fed to the liquid crystal display panel in synchronization with the movement of the plurality of functional units each composed of the convex lens.
