Provided is a display cover member that enables realization of a display having less reflection of the background and excellent anti-sparkle properties. The display cover member has a feature that: one of principal surfaces is formed of an uneven surface; a mean width of roughness profile elements (RSm) of the uneven surface defined by JIS B 0601-2013 is not less than 1 μm and not more than 30 μm; and a ratio θ/Rku between an average inclined angle (θ) of the roughness profile of the uneven surface and a kurtosis of the roughness profile (Rku) of the uneven surface defined by JIS B 0601-2013 is not less than 0.40° and not more than 1.08°.

Display cover member and production method therefor

A transparent article in which sparkling on an anti-glare surface or other roughened relief surface is suppressed. The transparent article is provided with a transparent substrate, and a roughened relief surface provided to at least one surface of the transparent substrate. The relief surface has a surface roughness Sq of 50 nm or less measured in a spatial period of 20 μm or greater in the transverse direction.

Transparent article having a roughened uneven surface

A glass article (10) as a transparent article has a haze value of 15% or less and a clarity value of 9% or less. Preferably, the product of the haze value, the clarity value, and the sparkle value is 0.5 or less.

The present invention addresses the problem of providing a transparent product which has an anti-glare surface having a surface shape which makes it possible to lower the haze value thereof and to obtain an excellent glare-suppressing effect. The transparent product has a transparent substrateequipped with an anti-glare surface. The surface shape of the anti-glare surface is shaped in a manner such that the ratio (r/r) of the autocorrelation length (r), which is the minimum value of the distance r at which the autocorrelation function g(r) represented by formula (1) is 0, to the autocorrelation length (r), which is the minimum value of the distance r at which the autocorrelation function g(r) is 0.2, is 2 or higher. The autocorrelation function g(r) is obtained by converting the autocorrelation function g(t, t) obtained by normalizing the surface shape z(x, y) of the antiglare surface to polar coordinates (t=r cos &#x3a6;, t=r sin &#x3a6;), and averaging the angle direction.

A cover member used to cover a display device is disclosed that includes a first main surface arranged at a visually recognized side, a second main surface arranged opposite to the first main surface, a first light transmission portion, and a second light transmission portion. The first main surface on the second light transmission portion has an arithmetic mean surface height (Sa) that is smaller than an arithmetic mean surface height (Sa) of the first main surface on the first light transmission portion.
