A paper separating unit and an electronic printing apparatus which includes said paper separating unit wherein paper is picked by a pick roller from a paper container, is fed into a gap between a first feed roller and a separate roller which are rotating in the same rotational direction, then the first sheet of paper is separated from the other and is fed to a second feed roller, and when the first paper is acceleratedly fed, and a motor which drives the first feed roller and the separate roller is stopped, a one-way clutch which prevents a separate roller from reverse-rotating together with the paper conveyed by the second feed roller so that feeding more than one sheet of paper can be firmly prevented.

Electronic printing apparatus, paper separating unit

A printer constituted to drive a pair of feed rollers FR3 and a pair of resist rollers RR so that the leading end of paper P may one stop at a position of a paper sensor S1 at the upstream side when reaching the resist rollers RR and then the entire paper P may be conveyed at a second conveying speed, when conveying a sheet of paper P at a relatively fast first conveying speed by the feed rollers FR3, and conveying at a second conveying speed lower than the first conveying speed by aligning the leading end by the resist rollers RR. It solves the problems of error in printing starting position due to slipping-out of the leading end of the paper from the resist rollers, failure in control to a desired deflection amount when deflecting the paper by colliding with the resist rollers, impact noise when the paper collides with the resist rollers, especially impact noise in thick paper, and possibility of oblique running after passing through the resist rollers.

Sheet conveying method and apparatus

A paper transport mechanism includes a first guide plate having an end part, a rotation fulcrum located in a vicinity of the end part and first rollers, a second guide plate having a first surface part which confronts the first guide plate with a gap formed therebetween in a closed position of the first guide plate, a second surface part which is curved, second rollers and fourth rollers which make pressing contact with the first rollers in the closed position of the first guide plate so as to transport a paper between the first and second guide plates, a third guide plate having a third surface part which confronts the second surface part of the second guide plate with a gap formed therebetween and third rollers which make pressing contact with the second rollers in the closed position of the first guide plate so as to transport a paper between the second and third guide plates, and a mechanism for urging the third rollers against the second rollers in the closed position of the first guide plate and for separating the third rollers from the second rollers in an open position of the first guide plate.

Paper transport mechanism

A paper transport mechanism which is suited for use in an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine which allows the user to more easily remove paper jammed between guide plates. The paper transport mechanism includes at least three guide plates which engage one another when the transport mechanism is in use, but may be separated, each from the other, in order to clear a jammed paper path. The first guide plate has an open and a closed position. The second and third guide plates each have rollers attached. When the paper transport mechanism is in use, the first guide plate is in the closed position and the rollers of the second and third guide plates press against one another and transport paper therebetween. When a paper jam occurs, the first guide plate is moved to the open position and the second and third guide plates and their associated rollers are separated to allow access to any paper jammed therebetween.
