A graphic display control apparatus which automatically scrolls display contents of a screen vertically, horizontally or diagonally by automatically updating the reading address corresponding to the amount of scrolling, when read-out areas for display information of one screen read out from a frame memory whose capacity allows a CPU to write display information larger than one screen, e.g., an animation background, a motorcar navigation map or the like therein are sequentially moved, thereby to lighten the burden of the CPU at the scrolling time.

Graphic display control apparatus

A graphic scrolling apparatus comprising a unit for storing image data; an image display device having a screen for displaying a first predetermined-sized area of the image data stored in the image data storing unit; a buffer memory for temporarily storing a second predetermined-sized area of the image data stored in the image data storing means, the second predetermined-sized area being larger than the first predetermined-sized area; a first depicting unit for retrieving, from the image storing means, at least image data corresponding to a third area of the first predetermined-sized area, which protrudes from the second predetermined-sized area and for depicting the at least image data corresponding to the third area on a fourth area of the second predetermined sized area, which is in the outside of the first predetermined-sized area as the first predetermined-sized area scrolls on the second predetermined-sized area; and an image display controlling unit for controlling the apparatus such that an image is displayed on the screen of the image display device by changing a reading address for the buffer memory to an address of the fourth area and by reading out data of the first predetermined-sized area based on the changed address at the boundary of the first predetermined-sized area when the first predetermined-sized area protrudes from the second predetermined-sized area as the first predetermined-sized area scrolls on the second predetermined-sized area.

Graphic display scrolling apparatus

A microprocessor, comprising a register 18 for setting either a first mode in which a trap instruction is not executed, or a second mode in which the trap instruction can be executed is set, wherein an instruction decoding circuit 23, in case of operating in the first mode, outputs an internal signal SG1 directing execution of a subroutine call, when decoding a subroutine call instruction, to an instruction executing unit 14, and in case of operating in the second mode, outputs the internal signal SG1 directing execution of a trap when decoding the subroutine call instruction, to the instruction executing unit 14. By such a configuration, a break can be effected in a unit of subroutine under a simple control when debugging the program, and by enabling the breaking without decoding a program to be debugged, the debugging can be effected efficiently under a real time environment.
