According to an embodiment, a display device comprises a frame defining an opening, a grip extending from the frame, and a display panel which is held by the frame and whose background is visually recognizable. Further, the opening includes a region surrounded by an inner edge of the frame and the display panel.

According to an aspect, a display device includes: a display panel configured to transmit light; and an illumination device provided on a rear surface side of the display panel. The illumination device includes a plurality of light sources configured to emit light, and a light guiding member that has translucency and is arranged between the light sources on the rear surface side of the display panel. The light guiding member has a plurality of holes each of which opens in a first direction intersecting with a rear surface of the display panel and in each of which a corresponding one of the light sources is disposed, and a light guiding portion surrounding the holes. A rear surface of the light guiding portion is provided with a first inclined surface inclined with respect to the first direction and a plane orthogonal to the first direction.

According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel and a backlight device. The backlight device includes a case with a bottom plate and a side plate, a light guide on the bottom plate, and a light source device. The light source device includes a wiring substrate and a light-emitting element on the wiring substrate. The wiring substrate includes a mounting portion on which the light-emitting element is mounted, a connection wiring portion on a back surface side of the bottom plate, and a joint portion which joints the mounting portion and the connection wiring portion together. The joint portion extends from an inside to an outside of the case through a gap between the side plate of the case and the liquid crystal panel.

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display panel including pad portions, a flexible printed circuit, the flexible printed circuit includes a base member with a first surface and a second surface, wiring lines, and a protective layer, and including a bend area, and a first edge and a second edge, the base member includes a groove portion located in the bend area and formed in the second surface, a first frame region between the first edge and the groove portion, and a second frame region between the second edge and the groove portion, a thickness of the base member in a position where the groove portion is formed is less than a thickness of the base member in a position which overlaps the first frame region and the second frame region.

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display panel, a case including a bottom plate and a side plate provided on the bottom plate and attached to the display panel, and a flexible wring board including a first end joined to the display panel and extending from the display panel toward the bottom plate while being curved around the side plate. The flexible wring board includes a substrate, a conductive layer on a first surface of the substrate and constituting wires, and a protective layer overlaid on the conductive layer and the substrate and opposed to an outer surface of the case. The flexible wring board includes a curved portion curved along the side plate, and the substrate includes a concavity provided in the curved portion.

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display panel, a case including a bottom plate opposing a rear surface of the display panel and a side plate stand on the bottom plate and attached to the display panel, a flexible wiring board, one end of which is joined to the display panel, curved around the side plate toward the bottom plate to oppose the bottom plate while, and an adhesive filled between the flexible wiring board and the side plate of the case or between the flexible wiring board and both of the side plate and the bottom plate, to adhere the flexible wiring board onto an outer surface of the case and hold the flexible wiring board in a curved state.

According to one embodiment, a backlight device includes a support frame including a first frame body including a pair of first frame members and a second frame member connected to respective ends of the first frame members and a second frame body being separate from the first frame body, which connects other respective ends of the first frame members to each other, a reflective sheet on the support frame, a light guide on the reflective sheet within the support frame, an optical sheet on the light guide, and a light source unit in the support frame. The light source unit includes a wiring board on the second frame body and a light source on the wiring board, opposing an incidence surface of the light guide.

According to one embodiment, a backlight device includes a case including a bottom plate formed from a metal plate, a plurality of side plates formed of metal plates along side edges of the bottom plate and a plurality of resin members each embedded into a gap between each adjacent pair of the side plates to form a corner portion, a light guide in the case, an optical sheet on the light guide, and a light source unit in the case, configured to emit light to enter the light guide.

Backlight device and liquid crystal display device comprising the same

According to one embodiment, provided is a display device with an improved manufacturability which is capable of preventing a decrease in the display quality due to a change in the gap between an array substrate and a counter substrate caused by a temperature change. The primary bonding portion is composed of translucent synthetic resin and provided to bond together the counter substrate side and a touch panel side in a manner covering at least a display area. The secondary bonding portion is provided in a columnar shape through curing of adhesive being ultraviolet curable liquid resin with a viscosity higher than that of the synthetic resin of the primary bonding portion, the secondary bonding portion bonding together the non-opposed portion side and the touch panel side.
