A negative-working infrared radiation-sensitive lithographic printing plate precursor can be imaged and developed on-press to provide a lithographic printing plate. Such precursor has an initiator composition that contains compound A of Structure (I) and one or more compounds collectively as compound B of Structure (II) or Structure (III): wherein R, R, R, R, Rand Rare independently alkyl groups each having 3 to 6 carbon atoms; at least one of Rand Ris different from Ror R; the difference of total number of carbon atoms in Rand Rand the total number of carbon atoms in Rand Ris 0, 1, or 2; the difference of total number of carbon atoms in Rand Rand the total number of carbon atoms in Rand Ris 0, 1, or 2; and X, Xand Xare the same or different anions.

Negatively-working lithographic printing plate precursor and method

The invention enhances a cooling effect on a press die for hot press. A lower die includes a first base, a second base mounted on the first base and having an opening in the center, a support table provided in the opening of the second base, and a die portion detachably mounted on the support table and including die pieces. The die portion is divided in die pieces disposed adjoining each other, and cold water pipes are provided in the die pieces respectively. The cold water pipes are bent in a U shape and inserted in the die pieces respectively, and extended downward from the lower ends of the die pieces respectively. The cold water pipes have cooling water injection ends and cooling water ejection ends in a space between the first base and the support table.

An automatic attaching apparatus of a foamed seal member includes an attaching hand handling a foamed seal member, a preset machine in which the foamed seal member is preset, a removing machine removing a release paper, and a robot moving the attaching hand. The attaching hand picks up the foamed seal member from the preset machine, presses the foamed seal member from which the release paper is removed against an attaching surface of a work using a pressing roller in a state where the foamed seal member is floated by an air floating device, and sends out the foamed seal member to attach the foamed seal member to the attaching surface of the work.

This precursor has an infrared radiation-sensitive imageable layer comprises free radical imaging chemistry; an infrared radiation absorber; a particulate primary polymeric binder comprising polyalkylene oxide segments having an average particle size (D) of at least 50 nm and up to and including 1000 nm; and a particulate secondary resin having an average particle size (D) of at least 3 &#x3bc;m and up to and including 10 &#x3bc;m. Negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor and use

The invention provides a multistage heating system including a compact multistage furnace of which the installation area in a factory is decreased and a work carrier machine. A multistage furnace is configured by piling up a plurality of furnace units in the vertical direction. Each of the furnace units includes an upper heater and a lower heater, support pipes disposed on the upper heater and extending in the horizontal direction, and a plurality of work support bars mounted over the support pipes. A work carrier machine includes work carrier bars extending in the horizontal direction, a horizontal motion mechanism connecting the ends of the work carrier bars and move the work carrier bars on horizontal rails, and a vertical motion mechanism moving the body of the work carrier machine including the horizontal rails on vertical rails.

Multistage furnace system

The invention provides a compact multistage furnace of which the installation area in a factory is decreased. A multistage furnace is configured by piling up a plurality of furnace units in the vertical direction. Each of the furnace units includes an upper heater and a lower heater layered in the vertical direction and holding a heat insulator therebetween, a support pipe disposed on one end of the upper heater and extending in the horizontal direction, a support pipe disposed on other end of the upper heater and extending in the horizontal direction, and a plurality of work support bars mounted over the support pipes. The back surface of a work supported by the work support bars is opposed to the upper heater and the front surface of the work is opposed to the lower heater of the adjacent furnace unit disposed above.

Multistage furnace

A lithographic printing plate precursor is provided that exhibits less blooming without using a specific polymerization initiator, infrared radiation absorbing agent and the like. The lithographic printing plate precursor comprises a substrate having thereon an image forming layer comprising a radiation-sensitive composition which comprises a radical polymerizable component, an infrared radiation absorbing agent and a radical polymerization initiator, wherein the radiation-sensitive composition comprises a fluorinated copolymer substantially having no hydrophilic moiety.

Lithographic printing plate precursor

An aluminum-containing substrate can be provided for use in lithographic printing plate precursors. Before radiation-sensitive layers are applied, a grained and sulfuric acid anodized aluminum-containing support is treated with an alkaline or acidic pore-widening solution to provide its outer surface with columnar pores. The diameter of the columnar pores at their outermost surface is at least 90% of the average diameter of the columnar pores. Directly on this treated surface, a hydrophilic layer is applied, which hydrophilic layer contains a non-crosslinked hydrophilic polymer having carboxylic acid side chains.

Aluminum substrates and lithographic printing plate precursors

On-press developable, negative-working lithographic printing plate precursors have a sulfuric acid anodized aluminum-containing substrate in which the oxide layer pores have been widened using an acidic or alkaline treatment. Over the widened pores, a hydrophilic coating is applied, which coating comprises a non-crosslinked hydrophilic polymer having carboxylic acid side chains. This particular substrate provides improved adhesion and printing durability for on-press development and printing.

Adhesion between a photosensitive layer and a substrate after the exposure of a photosensitive lithographic printing plate containing the photosensitive layer and substrate is achicbed by incorporating modified silica particles into the photosensitive layer. The surface of the silica paricles is modified by an organic compound having at least one ethylenically unsaturated group, at least one hydrophilic moiety, and at least one silyloxy group.

A radiation-sensitive composition includes a free-radically polymerizable component, an initiator composition capable of generating free radicals sufficient to initiate polymerization upon exposure to imaging radiation, an infrared radiation absorbing compound, and a polymeric binder. The initiator composition includes a unique polyonium borate comprising a polyvalent onium cation with multiple onium moieties and sufficient organic borate counterions to provide a net neutral charge. The radiation-sensitive composition can be used to prepare a negative-working imageable element that is sensitive to suitable imaging infrared radiation, can be imaged at relatively low energy, and can be developed either on-press or off-press.

Method and apparatus for development of lithographic printing plate precursor

Substrates for imageable elements are disclosed. The substrates comprise, in order, an aluminum or aluminum alloy support, a silicate layer, and a layer of interlayer material. The interlayer material is a co-polymer that comprise (1) phosphonic acid groups and/or phosphate groups and (2) acid groups and/or groups that comprise ethylene glycol or polyethylene glycol side chains. Imageable elements that comprise an imageable layer over the interlayer material are useful as lithographic printing plate precursors.

The present invention provides a photosensitive lithographic printing plate which displays superior ink receptivity and superior film strength of the photosensitive layer (image area). The photosensitive lithographic printing plate is produced by providing, on top of a support, a photosensitive composition comprising a fluororesin having a fluoro aliphatic group of 3 to 20 carbon atoms in which at least two of three terminal hydrogen atoms are substituted for fluorine atoms, and an ethylene based unsaturated group, as well as a negative photosensitive compound.
