An AV system in which a power feeding apparatus and a plurality of power receiving apparatuses are connected in a daisy chain with the power feeding apparatus in the lead, wherein the power feeding apparatus includes: a connection detecting line; an applying unit for applying a voltage to the connection detecting line; and a power supply unit for supplying a power to the power receiving apparatus or suspends the supply of the power according to a voltage level of the connection detecting line, the power receiving apparatuses include: a contents signal output unit for outputting a contents signal upon the supply of the power; a ground terminal having a ground potential; a conducting line connectable to the ground terminal in another power receiving apparatus adjacent on the rear; and a first switch unit for enabling the connection detecting line to be connected to any one of the ground terminal and the conducting line and holding a connected state even when the power is not supplied.

A command conversion deviceis connected between an amplifier deviceand a portable player. The amplifier devicesends/receives a plurality of types of first commands corresponding to a plurality of types of devices (e.g., CD players, MD recorders, tape recorders, etc.), and performs an operation based on a received first command. The portable playersends/receives a second command, and performs an operation based on a received second command. The command conversion deviceincludes a selector for selecting a type of a first command, and a converter. When a first command of the type selected by the selector is received from the amplifier device, the converter converts the received first command into a second command, and sends the second command to the portable player

If a sub broadcast is unavailable so a reception means receives the main broadcast instead of the sub broadcast, reception of the sub broadcast is booked. When the sub broadcast is booked and the sub broadcast becomes available, the reception means automatically receives the sub broadcast booked instead of the main broadcast. Accordingly, reception of the sub broadcast can start automatically when the sub broadcast starts, without inputting instructions to select the sub broadcast repeatedly, whereby operation performed by a user can be simplified.

Receiver and broadcast receiving method

A remote operating apparatus includes a selection decision operating device, a controller, a first operation function changing button and a second operation function changing button for changing an operation function of the selection decision operating device. The controller controls the operation function of the selection decision operating device by receiving a signal from the first operation function changing button or the second operation function changing button and switches among a basic controlled state that enables one to select and decide a combination of a plurality of set values, the combination constituted of an operation mode set value of the remote operating apparatus and an input switching set value of a remote operated apparatus, by operation of the selection decision operating device, a first controlled state that enables one to select and decide an operation mode set value of the remote operating apparatus independently by operation of the selection decision operating device when the first operation function changing button is pressed, and a second controlled state that enables one to select and decide an input switching set value of the remote operated apparatus independently by operation of the selection decision operating device when the second operation function changing button is pressed.
