A wire harness including: a plurality of wires each including a core wire whose transverse cross-sectional shape is a flat shape, and an insulating sheath covering an outer circumference of the core wire; a plurality of outer covers into which the plurality of wires are inserted respectively, wherein the outer covers are independent of each other and each have a flat tubular shape; and a clamp that is attached to an outer circumferential surface of the outer covers and that fix the outer covers to a vehicle body.

Wire harness

The invention relates to an ultrasonic welding and cutting device for use in the manufacture of a flat-cable. The flat cable includes a plurality of wire conductors which are arranged in parallel at a given interval with respect to each other and interposed between first and second insulator films. The device has a product flow line in an upstream to downstream direction. The device comprises a horn unit including a horn melter unit that imparts ultrasonic oscillations, and a horn cutter unit. The horn melter unit and the horn cutter unit are located sequentially from upstream to downstream at a predetermined distance along the product flow line. The device further includes an anvil unit including an anvil melter unit and at least one anvil blade unit. The anvil melter unit and the at least one anvil blade unit respectively face the horn melter unit and the horn cutter unit along the product flow line, such that, when the first and second insulator films containing the plurality of wire conductors are passed between the horn and anvil units, the first and second insulator films can be fused and adhered by the horn and anvil melter units, and successively fused and cut or trimmed by the horn cutter unit and the at least one anvil blade unit, respectively along the product flow line.

Ultrasonic welding and cutting device for use in the manufacture of a flat cable

A flat cable includes first and second insulator sheets, and a plurality of conductor elements arranged in parallel relation to one another over the length of the sheets. The first insulator sheet is provided with an adhesive layer. The conductor elements are interposed between the adhesive layer and the second insulator sheet. The first and second insulator sheets are first press-adhered under heat through the adhesive layer, and then bonded by an ultrasonic welding unit. The ultrasonic welding unit includes a horn for imparting ultrasonic oscillations, and an anvil placed in opposition to the horn. The first and second insulator sheets are bonded in the zones which extend along the length of the sheets and are located outside the loci where the conductor elements are arranged. The bonding is performed either continuously or in an intermittent manner.

Flat cable and a manufacturing method therefor

A flat cable includes first and second insulator sheets, and a plurality of conductor elements arranged in parallel relation to one another over the length of the sheets. The first insulator sheet is provided with an adhesive layer. The conductor elements are interposed between the adhesive layer and the second insulator sheet. The first and second insulator sheets are first press-adhered under heat through the adhesive layer, and then bonded by an ultrasonic welding unit. The ultrasonic welding unit includes a horn for imparting ultrasonic oscillations, and an anvil placed in opposition to the horn. The first and second insulator sheets are bonded in the zones which extend along the length of the sheets and are located outside the loci where the conductor elements are arranged. The bonding is performed either continuously or in an intermittent manner. In a flat cable thus produced, the conductor elements embedded therein are efficiently prevented from mutual short-circuiting. Although the adhesive layer is made very thin, the insulator sheets are adhered to each other very firmly.

Flat cable and a manufacturing method thereof

In a first embodiment, an ignition coil includes a disk-shaped primary coil section having a primary coil winding wound thereon and a disk-shaped secondary coil section having a secondary coil winding wound thereon, the primary coil section and secondary coil section facing each other. A core of each winding is aligned with each other to form a coil member. The coil member has a thickness parallel to the thickness direction of the primary and secondary coil sections of from about 10 mm to about 25 mm. The coil member has radial core sections installed on its lower and upper surfaces and is accommodated inside a case member and fixed to the case member by insulation resin injected into the case member. In a second embodiment, a coil winding is wound between upper and lower flange portions of a primary coil winding seat. The axial width of the coil winding is substantially equal to the interval between the pair of flanges.
