A novel device for image-shooting both surfaces of documents at a high rate by an electronic device. The device has an upper transport system for allowing plural documents to descend/move by a pre-set number at a time towards the downstream and an image-shooting device for image-shooting the descending/moving document. Image-shooting can be done simultaneously on both sides or side by side, either during free movement or controlled movement by a transporting device.

A disk apparatus in which the thickness is suppressed. A recording/reproducing medium containing a disk rotatably in a hard case is moved substantially in a horizontal direction through an opening of the base of the disk apparatus for insertion and ejection operations of the recording/reproducing medium and recording/reproducing operation. For this purpose, the following are provided: a recording/reproducing unit for performing recording and reproduction, a container for containing the recording/reproducing medium at a predetermined position in the disk apparatus when the disk is inserted, a rotation motor for giving a predetermined turning effort by performing the chucking to the recording/reproducing medium, a chucking position where the chucking is performed, a vertical movement mechanism for moving the rotation motor to the waiting position where the recording/reproducing medium is inserted or ejected, a control mechanism for retaining the vertical movement mechanism to the chucking position, and a release mechanism for releasing and ejecting the recording/reproducing medium.

A disk cartridge shutter opening and closing mechanism which is disclosed herein is designed to open and close a shutter of a disk cartridge having a variety of disks contained in a shuttered hard case and is of a construction having a pair of arms swingably mounted within a range of a width of the disk cartridge, the arm having a block which is pivotally mounted on its leading end and integrally formed with an engage head portion and an arm portion which are used for opening and closing of the shutter. The pushing-in of the disk cartridge causes the pair of arms to be swung toward each other, thereby opening and closing the shutter. A smaller pushing-in force enables the shutter to be smoothly opened and closed. Moreover, the whole mechanism is thin and compact.
