A sealing device that suppresses degradation of sealing properties resulting from conduction of heat generated by sliding of a resin-made sealing member and a rotating shaft to a rubber-made sealing member. The sealing device includes a rubber sealing member (), a resin sealing member (), a support ring (), and a case (), the support ring () has: a large diameter portion (); an inward flange () that extends inwardly in a radial direction from an end portion of the large diameter portion () on an air side, and has a notch () with which a nail portion () of the case is engaged; a small diameter portion () that is in contact with an inner peripheral surface of a lip portion () of the rubber sealing member (); and a lip retaining portion ().

Sealing device

A sealing device for sealing an annular gap between a housing having a shaft inserted into a shaft hole for preventing leaking of a fluid on one side in an axial direction to another side in the axial direction that is capable of stabilizing the posture of the sealing lip of the first sealing member made of rubber-like elastomer and exhibiting a good sealing performance. The sealing device includes a first sealing member () made of rubber-like elastomer, a second sealing member () made of resin, and an adaptor () that positions the first sealing member () in the axial direction, and a bent portion () in which an edge portion () is bent toward an outer peripheral side so as to be spaced apart from an outer peripheral surface of a sealing lip ().

A lip type seal has a cartridge fitted to an inner periphery of a shaft hole, a first lip seal member, a case, a resin second lip seal member, a backup ring and an adapter, a protrusion section in a partial portion on a circumference is provided in a first flange section of the case to engage with the second lip seal member, whereby the second lip seal member is prevented from whirling with respect to the case and coming off to an inner side in a radial direction, and a projecting section in a partial portion on a circumference is provided in a flange section of the backup ring to engage with the second lip seal member, whereby the second lip seal member is prevented from whirling with respect to the backup ring and coming off to the inner side in the radial direction.

Lip type seal

The lip-type seal of the present invention includes a seal ring made of an elastic material so as to have an annular fitted part that is fitted to a housing and a lip part that extends from the fitted part inwardly in a radial direction in the shape of a substantially conical ring and that is brought into contact with a shaft, and a support ring including an annular joint part joined to the fitted part and an annular supporting part that defines a hole through which the shaft passes, that extends from a side of the joint part to a halfway area of the lip part, and that supports the lip part from inside in a radial direction. The lip part is tapered in cross section from an area from which non-contact with the supporting part starts toward an end thereof.
