A bellows pump comprises a body, a movable supporting member supported in the body movably, a bellows fixed between the body and the movable supporting member, peak portions of the bellows, and a driving means for driving the movable supporting member, wherein the bellows has a thin portion and a thick portion, and pitches of the bellows are in inverse proportion to the thicknesses thereof.

In a high volumetric efficiency compression machine that can be used as a compressor, pump, or actuator, a compression chamber is formed by a movable body and the inner wall of a casing. A discharge valve is formed in the casing, and communicates with the compression chamber. Two intake valves are formed in the casing, communicate with the compression chamber and are arranged symmetrically with respect to the axial direction of the discharge valve. A rod transmits reciprocation to the movable body.

Compression machine

There is disclosed a durable compression machine that can be used as a compressor, pump, or actuator. The machine comprises a casing in which a flexible membrane is accommodated. The inside of the casing is partitioned into a compression chamber and a back pressure chamber by the membrane consisting of a diaphragm spring or bellows. The membrane is reciprocated to compress the fluid inside the compression chamber and to force the fluid out of the compression chamber. The back pressure chamber is sealed with a gas under pressure. The pressure inside the back pressure chamber acts in opposition to the pressure inside the compression chamber and is maintained at about half of the pressure obtained in the compression chamber during compression to suppress the flexure of the membrane.

An air flow system includes a supercharger, a bypass passageway connected between an intake side and a discharge side of the supercharger, a compression machine and an air bypass valve in the bypass passageway. An intake port of the compression machine is connected with the bypass passageway such that supercharged air is delivered to the intake port of the compression machine at least during high supercharging conditions, thereby increasing the volumetric efficiency of the compressor at high engine speeds.

A rotor device includes a casing, an outer rotor positioned in the casing and rotatable about a first rotational axis, and an inner rotor positioned in the casing and rotatable about a second rotational axis. An outer sealing portion of the inner rotor defines a locus along an inner wall surface of an operating chamber of the outer rotor as a result of the rotation of the inner rotor. An inner sealing portion of the outer rotor defines a locus along an outer circumferential surface of the inner rotor in response to the rotation of the outer rotor. The inner wall surface of the operating chamber engages the outer circumferential surface of the inner rotor through a gear engagement. A driving input shaft portion is connected to the outer rotor and a first gear having teeth on its inner circumferential surface is connected to the outer rotor. A second gear having teeth on its outer circumferential surface is connected to the inner rotor and is engaged with the first gear, whereby the inner rotor is driven by the outer rotor via the first and second gears.

A rotor unit comprises an inner rotor and an outer rotor having different number of teeth, with the inner and the outer rotor being mounted on eccentric shafts to be driven for rotation at different speeds. The volume efficiency is improved by producing a clearance between the external surface of the outer rotor and the inner surface of the housing so that the clearance changes from the axial center to either end so that the magnitude of the clearance is reduced during a high speed rotation when a centrifugal force is effective. Projections are formed on the opposite ends of the outer rotor to reduce the volume of a waste space which is defined between the inner and the outer rotor.

A continuously variable transmission suitable for use in an automobile provides a wide range of reduction gear ratio. The gear comprises a gearing and a variable speed change portion. The gearing includes at least three rotating members which form a gear train. One of the three members is connected to the input shaft of the variable-speed gearing, while the two others are connected to speed change members that form a pair in the variable speed change portion, one of the speed change members being driven by the other and connected to the output shaft of the present gear.

A speed change gear system for providing at least four forward drive speed ranges and one reverse drive speed range includes three planetary gear sets of the single-pinion type, three clutches, and two brakes. As a result of the coupling and uncoupling of the clutches and brakes, the movable elements of each of the planetary gear sets are suitably coupled so as to attain the various speed ranges.

The first clutch couples or uncouples the input shaft to or from the first sun gear, the second ring gear and the third sun gear, while the second clutch couples or uncouples the input shaft to or from the first carrier and the second sun gear. The first brake is capable of locking the first carrier and the second sun gear to the gear casing while the second brake is capable of locking the first ring gear to the casing and the third brake is capable of locking the third ring gear to the casing.

A speed change gear system for providing at least four forward drive speed ranges and one reverse drive speed range includes planetary gear sets of the single-pinion type and simple planetary gear sets of the double-pinion type as well as a plurality of clutches and brakes.
