There is provided a liquid discharging head discharging a liquid, including: a channel unit having a liquid channel including a pressure chamber which has an opening at one surface of the channel unit; a piezoelectric element formed of a piezoelectric material; an intermediate member preventing the liquid in the pressure chamber and the piezoelectric element from making contact with each other; a first adhesive layer composed of a first adhesive and adhering the channel unit and the intermediate member, the first adhesive being a thermo-setting adhesive starting to be cured at a first temperature; and a second adhesive layer composed of a second adhesive and adhering the intermediate member and the piezoelectric element, the second adhesive starting to be cured at a second temperature lower than the first temperature.

Liquid discharging head and method for producing the same

A liquid droplet discharge head includes a plurality of discharge unit parts, each of which extends in a first direction. The discharge unit parts are arranged in a second direction intersecting with the first direction. Each of the discharge unit parts includes: a nozzle column configured by a plurality of nozzles; a liquid droplet discharge surface; a common flow path; a plurality of pressure chambers; a damper chamber extending in the first direction; a damper wall arranged between the damper chamber and the common flow path; and a pillar part connecting the damper wall and a separate wall that is different from the damper wall in the damper chamber. A position of the pillar part of at least one discharge unit part of the discharge unit parts in the first direction is deviated from a position of the pillar part in the other discharge unit part.

Liquid droplet discharge head

Pressure applying sections applying a pressure to ink in pressure chambers are arranged in a staggered array in a sheet feed direction to form a row. Four of such rows of the pressure applying sections are aligned in the scanning direction. One part of inspecting sections among plural inspecting sections detecting resonance frequencies are arranged respectively at positions deviating from both end parts and an approximately center part, in the sheet feed direction, of each row of the pressure applying sections toward both sides in the scanning direction, and are aligned in the sheet feed direction. The other inspecting sections are arranged on both sides, in the sheet feed direction, of the rows of the pressure applying sections, and are aligned in the scanning direction. Further, plural dummy electrodes are aligned with the one part of inspecting sections, the inspection electrodes, and the pads in the sheet feed direction.

Liquid ejection device

Inkjet head

An image forming apparatus includes a recording head having a nozzle surface in which a plurality of nozzles is formed; and a vibration generating mechanism which is arranged at a position away from a recording medium in a moving direction of a recording head, and which intermittently sucks or blows air from and to the nozzle surface of the recording head moved to the position. The vibration generating mechanism vibrates a meniscus of a liquid inside each of the nozzles. Accordingly, there is provided an image forming apparatus in which the liquid is not consumed unnecessarily and thus is economical, and which effectively facilitates maintenance and recovery of the jetting function of the nozzles.

Image forming apparatus

A liquid jetting apparatus includes: a cavity unit having a plurality of nozzles and pressure chambers; and an actuator unit applying jetting pressures to the pressure chambers. The actuator unit has a plurality of stacked ceramics layers, individual electrodes corresponding to the pressure chambers, a common electrode common to all the pressure chambers, and a barrier layer preventing the liquid from being penetrated therethrough. The barrier layer is stacked on a position which is between a contact surface, of the actuator unit, making contact with the cavity unit and the individual electrodes closest to the contact surface, except a position on the contact surface. It is possible to prevent the individual electrodes and the common electrode from being electrically short-circuited due to the liquid even when the ceramics layer in contact with the cavity unit has a crack.

Liquid jetting apparatus

In an ultrasonic welding apparatus, ultraviolet-curable ink droplets are discharged to an upper surface of stacked sheets by means of an ink-jet head to land the ink droplets in a predetermined area on the upper surface of the sheets. The sheets, on which the ink droplets have been landed, are interposed and pressed between a welding horn and a receiving stand, while the welding horn is ultrasonically vibrated. Accordingly, the stacked sheets are welded to one another at portions opposed to the predetermined area in which the ink droplets are landed. In this way, the ultrasonic welding apparatus is provided, which makes it possible to perform the ultrasonic welding irrelevant to the shape of the area to be subjected to the welding.

Ultrasonic welding apparatus and method for producing welded product

A liquid droplet spraying apparatus includes: a plurality of nozzles, a plurality of pressure chambers respectively connected to the nozzles, the pressure chambers each configured to store liquid to which spraying pressure is selectively applied, a common ink chamber that stores the liquid supplied to the pressure chambers; and narrowing portions coupled between the common liquid chamber and the plurality of pressure chambers to supply the liquid therethrough. The narrowing portions are larger in a pressure loss than the common liquid chamber and the plurality of pressure chambers. A ratio of a length of each of the narrowing portions in a liquid flowing direction with respect to a length of corresponding one of the pressure chambers in the liquid flowing direction is 0.34 or more, wherein the liquid flowing direction corresponds to a direction in which the liquid flows through the narrowing portions.

Liquid droplet spraying apparatus

An ink-jet head includes pressure chambers arranged in a row in a row-direction, and a manifold flow passage communicated with the pressure chambers and extending in the row-direction. An ink inflow port is formed at one end of the manifold flow passage. The manifold flow passage has a main portion, a connecting portion, and an extended portion which are arranged in this order from a side close to the ink inflow port. The manifold flow passage is communicated with the pressure chambers at the main portion. The main portion has a constant cross-sectional area greater than that of the connecting portion. A cross-sectional area of the extended portion is greater than that of the connecting portion. The pressure wave, generated in the pressure chamber and propagated to the manifold flow passage, can be efficiently attenuated by the manifold flow passage constructed as described above.

Liquid droplet-jetting apparatus and ink-jet printer

In one embodiment, the disclosure relates to an ink-jet head including an ink chamber, a pressure chamber in communication with the ink chamber, a nozzle for ejecting an ink in communication with the pressure chamber, a piezoelectric actuator for applying an ejection pressure to an ink in the pressure chamber, and an ink passage extending from a boundary of the ink chamber to a tip of the nozzle. The tip of the nozzle has an aperture diameter of from about 15 to about 25 &#x3bc;m, and the ink passage is configured such that when an ink having a viscosity of from about 2.5 to about 3 mPa&#xb7;s is passed therethrough, a passage resistance value of the ink passage is from about 50 to about 100 kPa&#xb7;s/mm. Another embodiment of the disclosure relates to an ink-jet recording device containing such an ink-jet head.

Ink-jet head and ink-jet recording device

In an ink-jet head including black, yellow, magenta, cyan nozzle rows, the nozzle rows are arranged so that in each of the nozzle rows, adjacent nozzles are arranged by a predetermined spacing distance P, and that the black nozzle row is shifted in a nozzle-row alignment direction by a spacing distance smaller than the predetermined spacing distance P, with respect to the cyan, magenta and yellow nozzle rows. When a black dot is formed between monochrome-black dots adjacent in the sub-scanning direction, a dot of color-mixed black which is a mixture of the other three colors is formed between the monochrome-black dots. At this time, by adjusting a black-ink jetting amount to be greater than a total amount of the other three color inks, it is possible to make the monochrome-black dot and the color-mixed black dot to be mutually uniform in size.

Ink-jet printer and ink jetting method

A color ink-jet printer including a black-ink ejecting portion operable to eject droplets of a black ink, an other-color-ink ejecting portion operable to eject droplets of one of yellow, magenta and cyan inks, a first control portion operable to control the black-ink ejecting portion such that a total volume of at least one droplet of the black ink which forms each black ink dot is equal to a selected one of a plurality of different total volume values, and a second control portion operable to control the other-color-ink ejecting portion such that a total volume of at least one droplet of the ink of a color other than black, which forms each dot of that color, is equal to another of the different total volume values which is smaller than the value selected for the black ink. The first and second control portions are operable to select the respective different total volume values according to a presently selected print mode, or a gray-scale value at each picture element of an image to be printed.

Color ink-jet printer

A color ink-jet printer including a first ink ejecting portion operable to eject droplets of a first ink of a first color, a second ink ejecting portion operable to eject droplets of a second ink of a second color other than the first color, which second ink is dried at a higher rate than said first ink, a first control portion operable to control the first ink ejecting portion, on the basis of a gray-scale value at a picture element corresponding to each dot of the first ink to be formed on a recording medium, such that a total volume of at least one droplet of the first ink ejected by the first ink ejecting portion to form each dot of the first ink is equal to any one of a plurality of different total volume values, and a second control portion operable to control the second ink ejecting portion, on the basis of a gray-scale value at a picture element corresponding to each dot of the second ink to be formed on the recording medium, such that a total volume of at least one droplet of the second ink ejected by the second ink ejecting portion to form each dot of the second ink is equal to one of the different total volume values, which is other than a smallest one of the different total volume values except a zero value which does not cause ejection of any ink droplet from the second ink ejecting portion.

An ink jet recording apparatus wherein each dot, having the same size, may be formed regardless of whether print commands are successive. The ink jet recording apparatus includes a first drive waveform and a second drive waveform wherein the second drive waveform is used when there is no dot printed immediately before a dot is to be printed and the first drive waveform is used when there is a dot printed in response to a print command immediately before a dot is to be printed. Thus, regardless of whether the first drive waveform or the second drive waveform is used, the same volume of ink droplets are ejected and the same sized dots are formed.
