An optical fiber fusion splicer includes: a replaceable groove-formed unit having first positioning grooves, separated from each other by an equal distance, on which first optical fibers are disposed, and second positioning grooves, separated from each other by an equal distance, on which second optical fibers are disposed, wherein the first optical fibers constitute a first mass fiber and have first glass parts, and the second optical fibers constitute a second mass fiber and have second glass parts; a lighting part that illuminates, with light, the first optical fibers and the second optical fibers; a lens that condenses the light passing through the first glass parts and the second glass parts; a camera that captures an image formed by the lens; and a pair of discharge electrodes that heat and melt, by electric discharge, the first glass parts and the second glass parts.

Optical fiber fusion splicer and optical fiber fusion splicing method

A fusion splicer includes: a heater that heats a glass of an optical fiber; a pair of clamps that clamp a coated part of the optical fiber, wherein the pair of clamps is constituted by: a lower clamp on which a coated part of the optical fiber is disposed; and a coated part clamp that presses the coated part of the optical fiber against the lower clamp; a windproof cover that covers the heater and the coated part clamp; a retreat mechanism that causes the coated part clamp to retreat from the lower clamp; an opening/closing mechanism that opens and closes the windproof cover; and a pair of glass clamps attached to an inner surface of the windproof cover.

Fusion splicer

An optical fiber re-coating device of the invention includes an optical fiber coater that includes: a pair of glass members having grooves formed thereon; and two bases on which the respective glass members are provided, wherein at least one of the paired glass members has a cross section in a direction vertical to a mounting surface of the bases, the cross section is formed in a trapezoidal shape, the groove is provided on a short side of the trapezoidal shape, and an inclined surface of the glass member including an inclined side of the trapezoidal shape is pressed, and the glass member is thereby fixed to the base.

Optical fiber re-coating device

An electric connector includes a socket connector, a plug connector having a bar shape for connecting an electric circuit, the plug connector capable of insertion into and removed from the socket connector and to be rotatable between unlocked and locked positions about an axis thereof, a pair of detection terminals opposing across the plug connector, and a conductive member for providing electric conduction between the pair of detection terminals in the locked position of the plug connector. The conductive member includes a pair of pressed pieces arranged between the pair of detection terminals and the plug connector, spaced away from the detection terminals in the unlocked position of the plug connector, but pressed by an outer surface of the plug connector in the locked position of the plug connector to bring contact portions thereof into contact with the detection terminals and a coupling piece coupling the pair of pressed pieces.

Electric connector

An optical fiber re-coating device of the invention includes an optical fiber coater that cures resin and coats a coating-removed portion of an optical fiber therewith. The optical fiber re-coating device includes: a resin reservoir tank that stores the resin which is before subjected to curing; a pump that supplies the resin stored in the resin reservoir tank to an optical fiber coater; and an air bubble separator that separates air bubbles included in the resin from the pump therefrom, sends the resin from which the air bubbles are separated to the optical fiber coater, and returns the resin including the separated air bubbles to the resin reservoir tank.

An electric connector includes a socket connector, a bar-like plug connector to be inserted/withdrawn to/from the socket connector and a fuse. When the plug connector is inserted to the socket connector, electric conduction is established in the electric circuit via the fuse. The fuse is attached to the socket connector.

An optical fiber re-coating device of the invention includes an optical fiber coater that includes: an inner glass opening-and-closing unit including: a pair of glass members having grooves formed thereon; and a pair of mounting tables which are coupled to each other via a first hinge; and an outer opening-and-closing unit including: a pair of covers which are coupled to each other via a second hinge, one of the paired covers having a magnet provided therein, the other of the paired covers having a magnet catch provided therein, the magnet and the magnet catch facing each other when the paired covers are in a closed state; and light sources that cure a resin used to coat an optical fiber provided in the inner glass opening-and-closing unit and are provided in the respective paired covers.
