A method for manufacturing an inkjet recording medium comprising the steps of: applying a coating color containing a pigment and a binder as major components to at least one side of a base material using a transfer roll coater, subsequently drying coating layer to form an ink absorbing layer, wherein Hercules viscosity of coating color is 5 m Pa&#xb7;s to 30 m Pa&#xb7;s and pigment contains a synthetic silica having an oil absorption of 90 ml/10 g to 200 ml/100 g, a BET specific surface area of 45 m/g to 200 m/g and an average particle diameter of 1.0 &#x3bc;m to 3.0 &#x3bc;m and/or a precipitated calcium carbonate-silica composite having an oil absorption of 100 ml/10 g to 250 ml/100 g, a BET specific surface area of 5 m/g to 150 m/g and an average particle diameter of 1.0 &#x3bc;m to 10 &#x3bc;m.

Process for producing inkjet recording medium

A thermally sensitive recording medium has at least one layer on a substrate which is a thermally sensitive recording layer that contains a colorless or pale colored electron-donating leuco dye and an electron-accepting color-developing agent. At least one layer on the substrate contains a hydrated silicic acid compound which is treated by wet grinding treatment in a deposition process of the hydrated silicic acid compound. A thermally sensitive recording medium of high brightness, which is superior in color-developing sensitivity and coating layer strength and, further, has excellent head abrasion resistance, less debris adhering and sticking resistance is obtained.

A normally white reflection type liquid crystal display includes a polarization plate; a quarter wavelength plate; a transparent substrate; a transparent electrode; and a twisted nematic liquid crystal layer. The polarization plate, the quarter wavelength plate, the transparent substrate, the transparent electrode, and the twisted nematic liquid crystal layer are layered in sequence from a light inputting side, and the angle between the optical axis of the quarter wavelength plate and the transmission axis of the polarization plate is below 65 degrees and above 45 degrees, or below 45 degrees and above 25 degrees.

The normally white reflection type liquid crystal display of the present invention comprises: a polarization plate; a quarter wavelength plate; a transparent substrate; a transparent electrode; and a twisted nematic liquid crystal layer, wherein said polarization plate, said quarter wavelength plate, said transparent substrate, said transparent electrode, and said twisted nematic liquid crystal layer are layered in sequence from a light inputting side, and the angle between the optical axis of said quarter wavelength plate and the transmission axis of said polarization plate is below 65 degrees and above 45 degrees, or below 45 degrees and above 25 degrees.

A thermal sensitive recording medium which further contains poly urea compound in the thermal color developing layer containing dye precursor and color developer, which displays an excellent image preservative stability. Said poly urea compound contains units of a structure represented by general formula (1), and further contains a repeating unit represented by general formulae (2).about.(7). ##STR1## In these formulae A.sup.1 .about.A.sup.7 are a divalent group, R.sup.1 .about.R.sup.5 are an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or an electron accepting group, o, p, and q are an integer from 0 to 4, r is an integer from 2 to 12 and s and t are an integer from 0 to 8.

Thermal sensitive recording medium

An optical shielding structure comprises both organic optical shielding films provided over a thin film transistor substrate and metal optical shielding films provided over an opposite substrate. Each of the organic optical shielding films comprises a straight stripe portion which both extends over the signal line and has a width at least equal to a distance between the pixel electrodes in the second direction, and expanding portions extending from the straight stripe portion to cover the thin film transistors, the expanding portions being tapered so that the each organic optical shielding film is shaped to be free of any acute angle corners and the right angle corner. Each of the metal optical shielding films both extends over the scanning line and has a width at least equal to a distance between the pixel electrodes in the first direction.

The present invention provides a thin film transistor substrate for a liquid crystal display panel. The thin film transistor substrate comprises the following elements. A pixel electrode is provided on a first predetermined region of the transparent insulative substrate. A first optical shielding film being is made of a metal and is provided on a peripheral region of the pixel electrode. A thin film transistor is provided on a second predetermined region of the transparent insulative substrate. The thin film transistor comprises a gate electrode provided on the transparent insulative substrate, a gate insulation film provided to extend over the second predetermined region to cover the gate electrode and also extend on at least an outer portion of the first optical shielding film, a source electrode extending at least over the gate insulation film over a first half of the gate electrode and being electrically connected to the pixel electrode, and a drain electrode extending at least over the gate insulation film over a second half of the gate electrode. A signal line extends over the gate insulation film to the drain electrode so that the signal line is positioned above the pixel electrode and separated by the gate oxide film from the pixel electrode. A second optical shielding film extends over the thin film transistor provided on the second region and also extends over an outer part of the first optical shielding film so that an opening portion of the pixel electrode is substantially defined by an inside edge of the first optical shielding film.
