An artificial satellite and artificial satellite system has power transmission and reception efficiency and includes an expandable solar panel that generates power, expandable power transmitting antennas, and expandable beam members to connect the solar panel and the power transmitting antennas to each other. The beam members are expanded from being provided in the artificial satellite, on a plurality of rotational symmetry axes of an imaginary polyhedron formed with substantially a center of the artificial satellite as an origin. The beam members are arranged at substantially equal distances in directions of the rotational symmetry axes. A light receiving surface of the solar panel and installation surfaces of the power transmitting antennas, when expanded, are substantially perpendicular to a solar panel rotational symmetry axis passing through a center of the solar panel, and being arranged on opposite sides of a plane passing through the center of the artificial satellite.

It is an object of the present invention to improve visibility for observation with naked eyes or for camera shooting without spoiling the appearance during marking inside a transparent medium using a laser. By irradiating an inside of a transparent medium with a laser, the present invention forms a micro-denatured region in each of a first layer and a second layer inside the medium. The micro-denatured regions in the respective layers are arranged out of alignment with each other on a two-dimensional plane (refer to FIG.).

It is made possible to amplify signal light of an optical fiber sensor and to perform measurement in a long distance. At least one of a plurality of core wires in a multicore optical fiber is used as a signal-light propagating core wireand the other is used as a reference-light propagating core wire. Also, homodyne detection of signal light and reference light reflected by an FBG sensor unitarranged in each measurement point is performed. Thus, signal light is amplified. In order to make a difference between optical path lengths of the signal light and the reference light equal to or smaller than a coherence length, an optical path-length adjustment unit including a piezoelectric element or the like is arranged in an optical path of the reference light.

Optical fiber sensor device

In recording technologies for batch formation of a plurality of recording bits in a recording medium by forming a plurality of optical spots using an ultrashort pulse laser and a spatial optical modulator, the batch recordable bit number has an upper limit, resulting in restricted recording speed. The intensity of the optical spot is corrected to increase the batch recordable bit number for increasing the recording speed.

Information recording device and information recording method

Provided is a compact, low-cost optical measuring apparatus capable of acquiring an image of a target to be measured without moving a mirror or using a wavelength-scanning light source or beam splitter. A laser beam emitted from a light source is split into first and second beams, and the first beam is focused as a signal beam onto the target by a lens for irradiation purposes, while the second beam is reflected as a reference beam by a mirror without irradiating the target. Then, a signal beam reflected by or scattered by the target is multiplexed with the reference beam and then enters interference optics, whereby three or more interference beams with different phases are generated and detected by photodetectors. Then, the detection signals are operated by a signal processing unit. During the measurement, the focus position of the first beam is moved at least in the optical axis direction.

Optical measuring apparatus

When recording is performed by focusing a short pulse laser on an inside of a transparent medium such as quartz glass, and forming a minute deformed region in which the refractive index is different from that of surroundings thereof, it is difficult to ensure a recording quality. Therefore, a recorded dot length in a depth direction is monitored 111 and a power of the laser light is adjusted based on the monitored recorded dot length, or a difference between a focus position where a region of the recorded dots appears brighter than the surroundings and a focus position where the region of the recorded dots appears darker than the surroundings is measured and the power of the laser light is adjusted based on the difference.

To measure a surface state, reflective CARS is suitable in terms of the signal intensity. However, with the reflective CARS, it has been difficult to identify the surface position because the shape information is not acquired. Thus, a reflective CARS microscope is combined with a high-resolution phase sensor. The surface position is identified with the phase sensor, and reflected CARS generated from the surface is detected, so that composition analysis is performed.

When a simple magnification optical system is used in reproduction of a recording medium in which a large number of minute modified regions are three-dimensionally formed inside solid matter, contrast is insufficient and interlayer crosstalk is increased, and therefore, it is impossible to take a sufficient S/N ratio. When data is recorded on an optical disc, and stored for a long period of time, there is a need to periodically evaluate whether a quality of the recorded data is determined with time, or not. If the signal quality is lower than a given level as an evaluation result, a work for moving the data to a brand-new optical disc is required. However, in periodical inspection, if the number of optical discs is enormous, a large amount of time is required to evaluate all data recorded on the optical disc. In recording user data on the optical disc, a signal of a particular pattern having a lifetime shorter than a reference lifetime of the user data is recorded in a given area of the optical disc in advance, the particular pattern signal is reading at given time intervals, and processing on the user data is determined on the basis of the evaluation result of the signal quality.
