A method for purifying water containing organic matter includes dispersing photo-catalyst particles and an inorganic coagulant into the water; oxidizing the organic matter by activating the photo-catalyst particles by irradiating them with light; maintaining the diameter of the photo-catalyst particles to be equal to or less than 0.1 mm; and condensing the photo-catalyst particles and the inorganic coagulant.

In a fluidized bed filtering apparatus, for preventing particles of filtering material from entering into a feed pipe to clog the feed pipe and lowering the frequency of washing operations, a filtering material layer made of granular filtering material is supported by a supporting layer disposed in a filtering chamber so as to provide a space in the lower portion of the filtering chamber and two lines of a first feed pipe the outlet of which opens in the filtering material layer and a second feed pipe the outlet of which opens within the space are provided for feeding corrupt water into the filtering chamber.

A magnetic separation apparatus which coagulates substances to be removed in liquid by adding magnetic substances and a flocculent to liquid to be treated and adsorbs and captures the thus obtained magnetic aggregates by utilizing magnetic field of magnetic substances which move relative to the liquid to be treated, and other magnetic separation apparatus comprising a magnetic filter which contains charging magnetic metallic elements placed in a magnetic field and which magnetically adsorbs and captures the magnetic aggregates, are appropriately combined to remove the magnetic aggregates from the liquid to be treated with good efficiency. Substances to be removed in liquid can be removed with further good efficiency by employing a method of separating the magnetic aggregates separated by the magnetic filter from liquid with a centrifugal separator.

Liquid purification apparatus

A purification system is provided for purifying the water of eutrophic lakes and marshes by partitioning the target lake/marsh to form a specified water treating area therein. For this purpose, a partitioning structure is provided for enclosing and partitioning the whole or part of an area around the mouth of each river flowing into the target eutrophic lake/marsh in the direction of depth to form a water treating water area; and a purifier for taking in water from the water treating area operates to separate and remove pollutants from the water, and then discharges treated water outside the water treating area.

Purifying method and purification system for lakes and marshes

A chemical analyzer has turn tables respectively carrying reaction vessels, sample containers and reagent containers disposed thereon in circular rows. A sample pipetting mechanism and a reagent pipetting mechanism are provided to transfer predetermined amounts of sample and reagent solution from a sample container and from a reagent container into a reaction vessel. The thus transferred sample and reagent solution are mixed in the reaction vessel by a stirrer comprising a piezoelectric element which is disposed in non-contacting relationship to the sample and reagent solution in the reaction vessel and is electrically energized to generate a sound wave which causes a circulating flow of the reagent solution in the reaction vessel whereby the sample and the reagent solution are mixed in a non-invasive manner.
