An image formation apparatus comprising a photosensitive body and a transfer medium receiving an image made of a liquid toner formed on the photo-sensitive body and further transferring the image to an image formation medium. The transfer medium has a structure in which a conductive rubber layer and a polymer surface layer made of a silicone resin containing a conductive metal oxide are formed on a surface of a roller main body, and has surface resistance of 10E10 &OHgr;/&square; or less.

An electrophotographic machine including an image forming device configured to form a latent electrostatic image on a latent image carrier, a developing unit configured to develop a visible image from the latent electrostatic image on the latent image carrier with a liquid developer, and a pressure roller configured to apply pressure to an intermediate transfer medium disposed between the latent image carrier and the pressure roller. Further, a contact pressure between the intermediate transfer medium and the pressure roller is larger than a contact pressure between the intermediate transfer medium and the latent image carrier.

An erasable image forming material includes a color former, a developer, a binder resin, and a polymer decolorizer having an electron donating group capable of physically or chemically adsorbing the developer. This polymer decolorizer is, e.g., a polymer compound having a sugar skeleton, representatively starch. This image forming material can form sharp images and erase images by heat or a solvent to achieve a good erased state.

The present invention provides an image forming process, an image forming device, and a pattern forming process intended to obtain an image by developing a latent image which has been formed by exposing to light a photosensitive material including a photocatalytic layer which includes a photocatalyst and a hydrophobic layer applied on top of said photocatalytic layer, or a photosensitive material including a hydrophobic photosensitive layer which includes a photocatalyst and an organic compound, wherein the photocatalyst, when exposed to light, changes the angle of contact with water in the area on the surface of the photosensitive material which is exposed to light, thereby differentiating from the angle of contact with water in the area which is not exposed to light. The present invention also provides an image forming device and an image forming process which enable on-demand printing and reduce effects on health and environment, as well as a pattern forming process which is simple and reduces the effects on health and the environment.

A photoconductor is disclosed, which comprises a conductive cylindrical support which is substantially not hollowed, the conductive cylindrical support having a drive transferring mechanism coaxially and unifiedly provided on at least one of the end portions thereof, the conductive cylindrical support having a photoconductive layer on the outer periphery. The moment of inertia I (g . cm.sup.2) of the substantially not-hollowed conductive support is in the range of 0.4.ltoreq.I.ltoreq.140 (g . cm.sub.2), the diameter thereof being in the range from 0.5 to 2.0 cm. When the relation of C/(S . .omega.).ltoreq.0.4 (where S (cm.sup.2) is the square measure of the portion of the photoconductive layer on the photoconductor; C (cal/.degree.C.) is the heat capacity of the substantially not-hollowed cylindrical support; and .omega. (rad/s) is the rotating speed in development) is satisfied, high quality images can be readily and stably obtained without damages of the drive system.

A method for forming a pigment containing film on a work-piece includes the steps of circulating coating liquid containing pigment through a circulation path, and pulverizing the pigment to disperse the pigment in the coating liquid during the circulating step. The method further includes the steps of dipping a work-piece in the coating liquid during the circulating step, and raising the work-piece from the coating liquid. An apparatus for forming a pigment containing film on a work-piece includes a coating tank, having an inflow portion and an overflow portion, for holding coating liquid containing pigment, and a circulation path having one end connected to the inflow portion of the coating tank and the other end connected to the overflow portion of the coating tank, for circulating the coating liquid. In the circulation path, a pulverizing device is arranged for pulverizing the pigment to disperse the pigment in the coating liquid and to cause the coating liquid to flow in the circulation path. The apparatus further includes a work-piece mounting device for dipping a work-piece in the coating liquid held in the coating tank and raising the work-piece from the coating liquid to form a pigment containing film on the work-piece during the circulating of the coating liquid along the circulation path. A coated medium includes a work-piece, and a film coated on the work-piece by dipping the work-piece in circulated coating liquid in which pigment has been dispersed using an impact pulverizing disperser.
