An engine start control device is provided with: a starter relay that is provided between a battery and a starter motor; a start abnormality determining means that determines the occurrence of start abnormality of an engine; and a start control means, which turns on the starter relay, and starts supplying power from the battery to the starter motor in the cases where a start instruction signal is inputted from a start switch, and which turns off the starter relay in the cases where the start abnormality determining means determined the occurrence of start abnormality of the engine.

A meter display unit is provided for displaying drive information such as a vehicle speed or a travel distance. Left and right speakers are disposed on both sides of the meter display unit for generating regenerated sounds such as English conversation and music. The left speaker includes a left midrange/woofer unit disposed on the left side of the meter display unit for regenerating midrange/low-note sound and a left tweeter unit disposed between the meter display unit and the left midrange/woofer unit for regenerating high-note sounds. The right speaker includes a right midrange/woofer unit disposed on the right side of the meter display unit for regenerating midrange/low-note sound and a right tweeter unit disposed between the meter display unit and the right midrange/woofer unit for regenerating high-note sounds.

A throttle control apparatus includes a throttle control sleeve rotatably mounted on a handlebar of a vehicle, a throttle control housing fixed to the handlebar, and a throttle sensor unit housed in the throttle control housing. The throttle control housing is rotatably engaged with an outer periphery of the throttle control sleeve. The throttle sensor unit includes a rotary member having a spline hole formed therein, a fixed contact and a movable contact for detecting rotation of the rotary member. A throttle return mechanism and the sensor unit are arranged in an overlapping manner in an axial direction. A tire inflation pressure monitoring device and a vehicle having the same have a battery-driven unit provided on the tire side that can be reduced in size and power consumption. In a diagnosing unit, an ID comparing section outputs the result of detection of a tire inflation pressure to an inflation pressure calibrating section if a wheel ID included in a received signal coincides with a wheel ID recorded in a set value storing section. An atmospheric pressure detecting section calculates an atmospheric pressure at a present position according to an altitude at the present position. An inflation pressure calibrating section calibrates the result of detection of the tire inflation pressure to an inflation pressure at a reference atmospheric pressure. An inflation pressure diagnosing section compares the calibrated inflation pressure with a reference inflation pressure and inputs a predetermined error code into a storing section if the calibrated inflation pressure is lower than the reference inflation pressure. A diagnosing section reads the result of diagnosis corresponding to the error code recorded in the storing section, from the set value storing section and then outputs the result of diagnosis.

An instrument panel of a motorcycle includes several dials, one of which is a speedometer, and also includes a liquid crystal panel which displays characters and other graphical information. Either the dials or the liquid crystal panel includes a step. The surface of the liquid crystal panel is located in a lower position closer to the driver compared with the dials. Visors are used which project toward the driver for interrupting the incidence of external light onto the instrument panel in order to ensure easy viewing of the instruments. A first visor is provided for shading the dials, and a separate second visor is mounted between the dials and the liquid crystal panel. Because the liquid crystal panel is shaded by the second visor, the first visor for shading the dials can be decreased in the amount of projection toward the driver.

A body incline sensor includes an erroneous detection preventing circuit for transmitting an inclined state signal by determining that a body is in an inclined state when an incline angle detector detects a weight, and a state so detected continues over a predetermined length of time. In the event that the incline angle detector does not detect a weight within a predetermined length of time due to an inertia force resulting when a body is rolling, no inclined state signal is transmitted from an inclined state transmitter, whereby the erroneous detection of the incline of the body can be prevented, the accuracy with which the incline of the body is detected being thus improved. In addition, in the event that the incline angle detector is constituted by the weight and magnets mounted on the weight and reed switches adapted to be switched on by the magnets, and in the event that the inclined state transmitter is constituted by a simple electric circuit, the production costs of the body incline sensor can be suppressed.
