The blow molding device includes a heating section that continuously transfers and heats preforms that respectively include a neck along a heating transfer path while supporting the preforms using transfer members in an inverted state, a blow molding section that simultaneously blow-molds N (N is an integer equal to or larger than 2) preforms that have been heated by the heating section in an upright state to form N containers, and an intermittent transfer section that intermittently transfers the N preforms from the heating section to the blow molding section. The intermittent transfer section includes a pitch conversion section that converts the arrangement pitch of the N preforms from a first pitch Pto a second pitch P(P&#x3e;P), and an inversion section that includes N inversion arms that respectively invert the N preforms from the inverted state to the upright state.

In an injection stretch blow molding method, at least one injection molded preform is transferred from a preform molding section to a blow molding section by way of a transfer section and the at least one preform is blow molded into at least one container in the blow molding section. In the preform molding section the at least one preform is injection molded in an upright state with an open neck section thereof facing upward. In the transfer section, the at least one upright preform is turned upside-down and transferred to the blow molding section in an inverted state. An injection stretch blow molding apparatus has a preform molding section for molding preforms and a blow molding section for blow molding containers from the preforms retaining heat from when the preforms were injection molded. At a location in a path along which the preforms are carried from the preform molding section to the blow molding section there is a discharge guide section for guiding preforms which are not to be carried to the blow molding section off the carrying path. A method of injection molding multi-ply products includes the step of forming an insulating barrier layer from one of different plastic materials used to injection mold multi-ply products, between an injection cavity mold and each of hot-runner nozzles, prior to the injection mold. The insulating barrier layer is formed by pre-charging one of the plastic materials which is the best thermostability into a recess formed in the hot-runner nozzle at its surface contacted by the injection cavity mold, the recess communicating with the exit port of the hot-runner nozzle. The plastic material charged in the recess is cooled and solidified by the injection cavity mold. The insulating barrier layer formed by the solidified plastic material is less thermally deteriorated by heat from a hot-runner mold for a prolonged time period. The heat-insulating property of the insulating barrier layer can be assured during a continuous injection molding process over a week.

A multi-layer forming nozzle includes a valve member which can open and close a flow passage for molten resin which forms an intermediate layer of a multi-layer molded product by injection molding. The valve member is operated in response to resin pressure differentials at the front and back of the valve member to accurately switch from a multi-layer operation to a single layer operation and vice versa. A three-layer nozzle in accordance with the invention has a nozzle body provided interiorly with a first resin path, a second resin path and a third resin path in the form of a concentric circle bending to the same injection opening. The valve member is located either in a mouth portion of the third resin path in the central portion positioned internally of a mouth portion of the second resin path or a mouth portion of the second resin path in the intermediate portion positioned internally of the first resin path. The valve member is moved forward and backward in response to resin pressure differentials to open and close the valve member.
