An electronic tuning circuit for an AM radio receiver in which a signal of a specific frequency is selected from the input signal from an antenna is provided, this tuning circuit having a tuning transformer with a first winding and a second winding, the number of turns on the first winding being greater than the number of turns on said second winding, the input from the antenna being applied to the second winding of the tuning transformer, and further having two varactor diodes, each of which is connected in series with a DC-blocking capacitor, these series-connected varactor-capacitor combinations being connected in parallel with the first winding of the tuning transformer such that the polarities of the varactor diodes are mutually opposing.

Electronic tuning circuit for an AM receiver

A salient-pole rotary electric machine comprises a stator including a stator core formed with a plurality of ventilation ducts spaced apart by a predetermined distance in its axial direction and extending in its radial direction, and a stator winding would around the stator core, and a rotor including a rotor shaft, a rotor rim rotatable together with the rotor shaft, a plurality of salient field poles disposed on the outer periphery of the rotor rim in circumferentially spaced apart relation and extending in the axial direction of the rotor rim, and cooling gas passages defined between every adjacent salient field poles. In the rotary electric machine, a closure member is bured in each of the cooling gas passages between the salient field poles to extend from one of the axial ends to the center of the cooling gas passage, and the closure members are disposed between the adjacent salient field poles in a relation alternate with each other in the axial direction of the salient field poles. The alternate arrangement of the closure members reduces the mechanical losses of the salient-pole rotary electric machine and ensures uniform cooling of the stator throughout the axial length of the stator.

Salient-pole rotary electric machine

A cathode-ray tube is coated on the inner surface with a coating material which contains, in a weight ratio based on solid, 10 to 22% of graphite, 30 to 50% of a metal oxide, 2 to 9% of a surface treating agent and 25 to 42% of water glass, and in which at least 18% of graphite powders in its simplest form suspended in said coating material have a particle size of at least 1 micron.

Cathode-ray tubes and coating materials therefor

A cathode ray tube including first and second cathodes mounted parallel to each other in the horizontal direction, and a deflecting device disposed along the passages of the first and second electron beams which are emitted from the first and second cathodes so as to apply to the first and second electron beams a rotational force with the axis of the tube as its center, and whereby the first and second electron beams impinge on the phosphor screen at positions which are spaced apart from each other by a distance of approximately half the distance between adjacent scanning lines in the vertical direction.

Deflection system for a two electron beam cathode ray tube

In a full-wave rectifier circuit, a sinusoidal signal is applied to a differential amplifier, first and second current mirror circuits obtain outputs from the differential amplifier which are opposite in phase to each other. Outputs of the first and second current mirror circuits are applied respectively to the input and output sides of a third mirror circuit and other outputs of the first and second current mirror circuits are applied respectively to the input and output sides of a fourth mirror circuit. The connecting point of the first and fourth current mirror circuits is connected to the base of a first emitter-follower-connected transistor, while the connecting point of the second and third current mirror circuits is connected to the base of a second emitter-follower-connected transistor. The connecting points are connected to a current source circuit. The first and second emitter-follower-connected transistors have their emitters connected together, to provide a full-wave-rectified output.

Full-wave rectifier circuit

In a non-linear integration circuit, an audio sine wave signal is processed by a rectifier circuit and a smoothing circuit so that a DC output is obtained according to the amplitude of the signal. A hybrid diode which is similar in voltage-current characteristic to a silicon diode and is referred to as an 'analogous diode' is connected to the smoothing circuit, so that a DC output is obtained by means of the analogous diode in response to an abrupt change in amplitude of the input signal. The signal can be processed on a low supply voltage, and employment of the analogous diode provides an output which is similar to that which is provided by the use of a silicon diode.

Non-linear integration circuit

A variable impedance circuit is disclosed which comprises a pair of diodes having their cathodes connected together, a first current source coupled to the connection between the diodes, and a second and a third current source which are connected to the anodes of the diodes respectively. The second and third current sources are controlled by means of current mirror circuits so that equal forward currents are caused to flow therefrom to the paired diodes, thus making it possible to set up a desired impedance variation range.

Variable impedance circuit

A semiconductor integrated circuit device including a power amplifier circuit which includes a first PNP transistor, first NPN transistor, second PNP transistor and second NPN transistor which are formed in a common semiconductor substrate. The first PNP transistor is formed as a vertical type one which constitutes, together with the second NPN transistor, a first inverted Darlington circuit. The first NPN transistor, together with the second PNP transistor, constitutes a second inverted Darlington circuit. A d.c. power source is supplied to the emitter of the vertical type PNP transistor, with the emitter of the first NPN transistor being grounded.

Semiconductor integrated circuit device

A comparator receives an input voltage as well as one of two comparator levels and compares them to selectively produce one of two outputs having different values. A comparator level generator is connected to the comparator for selectively applying one of the two comparator levels to the comparator under the control of a controlling means. The controlling means is connected to both of the comparator level generator and the comparator for controlling the comparator level generator so as to change the comparator level in response to the new state of the comparator.

In a loudness control circuit, the output DC voltage of a first variable DC voltage source is applied to a first amplifier for increasing volume to vary the gain of the latter, and to first and second differential amplifiers, while the output DC voltages of second and third variable DC sources are applied to the first and second differential amplifiers to provide difference voltages, which the applied to second and third tone control amplifiers which amplify the low and high frequency ranges, respectively, to control the gains thereof, so that the components of the sound in the low and high frequency ranges are boosted, thus achieving the weighting.

Loudness control circuit

In a noise cancelling system for FM receivers, means is provided whereby a pilot signal of 19 KHz is always detected from a stereo composite signal, whether or not a noise canceller circuit is operated. The 19 KHz pilot signal is injected into a phase locked loop, and a signal of 38 KHz in synchronism with the 19 KHz pilot signal is generated which in turn is injected into the multiplex demodulation circuit. Furthermore, means may also be provided which eliminates, from the 19 KHz pilot signal, noise mixed into the stereo composite signal and having a frequency characteristic of (19/n) KHz (n=1, 2, . . .) and then detects the foregoing pilot signal, thereby achieving satisfactory stereophonic separation.

Noise cancelling system for FM receiver

In a deflection yoke for use with an in-line color cathode ray tube in which a plurality of electron beams originating in a common plane, for example, a horizontal plane, within a tube envelope are directed forwardly along paths converging through the deflection yoke to impinge on a screen at the front of the tube envelope, and in which the deflection yoke is made up of vertical and horizontal deflection windings for producing magnetic fields by which the electron beams are deflected in vertical and horizontal directions, each of the vertical and horizontal deflection windings is of saddle form so as to have side portions connected by bent front and back end portions, the vertical deflection winding is disposed against the tube envelope and has its bent back end portion shaped to closely conform to the surface of the tube envelope, the horizontal deflection winding is disposed outside of the vertical deflection winding, and the bent back end portion of the vertical deflection winding is closer to the screen at the front of the picture tube than the bent back end portion of the horizontal deflection winding. Furthermore, the vertical and horizontal deflection windings are preferably arranged to produce barrel-type and pincushion type magnetic fields, respectively, and a toroidal magnetic core extends around the horizontal deflection winding. The use of the foregoing deflection yoke with an in-line color cathode ray tube makes it possible to eliminate or at least substantially simplify the usual dynamic convergence correcting device usually associated with the latter.

Deflection device for use with in-line type color cathode ray tubes

A deflection yoke for use with a cathode ray tube includes a pair of half-cut separators joined together to form a complete separator, a pair of saddle wound horizontal deflection coils mounted on the separator halves and a pair of toroidal wound vertical deflection coils wound about half-cut coils and assembled about the separator. The plane of separation between the saddle wound horizontal deflection coils, the half-cut separators and the toroidal wound vertical deflection coil is the same plane. Provision is also made for proper orientation of the saddle wound horizontal deflection coils in each half-cut separator and for location of the toroidal wound vertical deflection coil about the separator.

Deflection yoke

A deflection yoke for use with an in-line cathode ray tube in which a plurality of electron beams are laid, for example, in a horizontal plane, which has a horizontal deflection winding formed in the saddle shape with front and rear bends for producing a pincushion type magnetic field and a vertical deflection winding wound toroidally around a magnetic core to surround the horizontal deflection winding between the front and rear bends for producing a barrel type magnetic field, wherein the vertical deflection winding is shorter than the distance between the front and rear bends of the horizontal deflection winding and is positioned adjacent the front bend and with a predetermined space from the rear bend. The use of the deflection yoke with the in-line cathode ray tube can eliminate or simplify a dynamic convergence correcting device.
