In this coordinate inputting system, a coordinate inputting sheet is provided for detecting an axial coordinate, and this includes a sheet body with a resistive surface laid over one of its sides, a pair of mutually substantially parallel edge electrodes extending along opposite edges of this resistive surface which are for having voltage applied between them, and several intermediate electrodes, substantially mutually parallel and substantially parallel to the pair of edge electrodes, and extending along the resistive surface bewteen the pair of edge electrodes in a mutually spaced relationship. Also, there are provided a device for processing information by obtaining voltage divided at an input point selected by pen contact against the coordinate inputting sheet as axial coordinate information, a device for storing in advance reference information relating to the voltages on the electrodes when the voltage is applied between the edge electrodes, a device for detecting which of the electrodes straddle the input point by comparing the axial coordinate information obtained from the information processing device with the reference information, and a device for determining the validity of input operation according to the result of comparison between the voltages upon the electrodes which straddle the input point and the reference information. Optionally, the reference information may include the voltages on the electrodes when the voltage is applied between the edge electrodes, and the voltage differences between neighboring ones of the electrodes.

Coordinate inputting system with provision for erroneous input detection

In this coordinate inputting sheet, there are provided an X coordinate inputting sheet for detecting an X coordinate and a Y coordinate inputting sheet for detecting a Y coordinate. These X coordinate and Y coordinate inputting sheets are laid together with their conducting surfaces mutually confronting one another. An insulating projection is provided between the X coordinate inputting sheet and the Y coordinate inputting sheet in order to space apart their opposing conducting surfaces. Auxiliary electrodes extend substantially along equipotential directions of at least one of the X and Y coordinate inputting sheets adjacent to the insulating projection. These auxiliary electrodes may optionally pass on either side of the insulating projection, and in such a case they may be substantially straight or may be curved away from the insulating projection; or, alternatively, the insulating projection may be located on one of the auxiliary electrodes, which may be enlarged to form a disk shaped portion around the insulating projection. In this case, a one of the auxiliary electrodes lying next to the one of the auxiliary electrodes on which the insulating projection is located may be shaped as straight, or alternatively it may be shaped as bowed away from the insulating projection.

Coordinate inputting sheet with auxiliary electrodes promoting accuracy

A coordinate input sheet for use in a coordinate digitizer apparatus has at least one auxiliary electrode disposed between and in parallel with main electrodes provided at opposite ends of a resistance surface. The auxiliary electrode is used to either measure a voltage at its respective position which can be used to correct point contact data generated by said sheet or to apply a voltage to said sheet so that point data generated by said sheet is correct.

A key switch is disclosed which employs a coil spring formed of a spring element and which has a smaller-diameter portion, a conical portion joined to one end of the smaller-diameter portion, and a larger-diameter portion joined to the other end of the smaller-diameter portion. The smaller-diameter portion has the spring element coiled at a relatively small diameter. The conical portion has the spring element extending coiled so as to increase its diameter progressively toward an open end thereof. The larger-diameter portion has a diameter larger than the diameter of the smaller-diameter portion. The conical portion is maintained under compression and the small-diameter portion is maintained in proximity to a contact area by elements of the key switch to provide a linearly increasing depression force for the key switch.

Coil spring for key switch

A keyboard switch is provided which comprises a substrate on the upper surface of which a flexible switch is disposed that has paired fixed and movable contacts and includes a flexible sheet, guide posts passing through and secured to the substrate at mutually opposed positions on either side of the contacts, a key plunger fitted vertically movably in the guide posts, and a coil spring interposed between the key plunger and the substrate. The coil spring functions so that it pushes the flexible switch when compressed to cause the paired contacts to come into contact with each other and, when uncompressed, returns the key plunger to the initial position thereby to separate the paired contacts.

A printed wiring board comprising a supporting frame, a resilient sheet supported by the supporting frame and having a wiring pattern formed thereon, and a tongue member made of the resilient sheet and providing the wiring pattern formed thereon; the supporting frame having a escape space formed therein corresponding to the tongue member; the terminal of an electronic device being pressed against the wiring pattern of the tongue member in such a manner that the restoring force of the tongue member completes the electrical connection between the wiring pattern and the terminal of the electronic device.
