A vehicle including an internal combustion engine and an automatic transmission capable of transmitting and receiving torque to and from an output shaft of the internal combustion engine is controlled. During operation of the internal combustion engine, a process that calculates a diluted water amount based on an operation state of the internal combustion engine is executed. The diluted water amount is the amount of water contained in lubricating oil in the internal combustion engine. Further, a process that controls the automatic transmission such that torque per unit period in the internal combustion engine becomes smaller when the diluted water amount is relatively large compared to when the diluted water amount is relatively small, while continuing the operation of the internal combustion engine, is executed.

A drive apparatus is for a vehicle that includes left and right wheels. The drive apparatus includes: (a) a left-side gear transmission mechanism disposed between a left-side drive source and the left wheel; and (b) a right-side gear transmission mechanism disposed between a right-side drive source and the right wheel. In a vehicle drive device, a second power source is connected to a first rotating element of a differential mechanism. The other output shaft of a first output shaft and a second output shaft is connected to a third rotating element so as to be disconnectable and connectable by a disconnection-connection mechanism. A control device places the disconnection-connection mechanism in a disconnected state. When a second traveling mode in which the third rotating element is fixed to a fixing member through engagement of a first engaging element is switched to a first traveling mode in which the disconnection-connection mechanism is placed in a connected state, the control device disengages the first engaging element, executes synchronous control in which rotational speeds of the other output shaft and the third rotating element are synchronized by a second engaging element, and switches the disconnection-connection mechanism from the disconnected state to the connected state.

A platooning system executes automatic follow-up running in line with a predetermined intervehicle distance between adjacent vehicles from a leading vehicle, the platoon participating vehicles each comprising a driving force source, an automatic transmission capable of shifting to a plurality of gear stages each having a different gear ratio, and an in-vehicle control device automatically controlling output of the driving force source and the gear stages of the automatic transmission, the platooning system comprising a platoon control device connected via wireless communication to the platoon participating vehicles, for managing at least shifting of the automatic transmission, the platoon control device executing platoon shift control that shifts the automatic transmission via the in-vehicle control device in order from vehicles on tail side among the platoon participating vehicles in case of satisfying shift conditions previously defined to allow the driving force source to work in a proper working range.

Platooning system

A drive device installed in a vehicle includes a case including an electric motor chamber, a terminal block chamber, and a gear chamber, an electric motor, a terminal block, a speed reducer, and a hypoid gear. A first through hole is provided in a partition wall between the electric motor chamber and the terminal block chamber. A second through hole is provided in a partition wall between the terminal block chamber and the gear chamber. The electric motor includes a rotor shaft extending from the electric motor chamber through the first through hole, the terminal block chamber, and the second through hole, to the gear chamber. A gap between the rotor shaft and the second through hole is sealed by an oil seal. A first lubricating oil is accommodated in the electric motor chamber and the terminal block chamber. A second lubricating oil is accommodated in the gear chamber.

A vehicle control device connecting platoon participating vehicles to one another via radio communication, to control platooning of the platoon participating vehicles, the platoon participating vehicle includes a leading vehicle and following vehicles that perform automatic follow-up running in line with a predetermined intervehicle distance from the leading vehicle, During execution of the platooning, the vehicle control device acquires, for each of the platoon participating vehicles, information of an estimated value of retardation based on a driven torque generated when coasting solely in its current vehicle state, the vehicle control device controls the driven torque of each of the platoon participating vehicles so that the platoon participating vehicles align in ascending order of the estimated value of retardation increasing rearward in sequence from the leading vehicle.

Vehicle control device

A power transmission device according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes a first drive unit having a first drive source, a first transmission connected to the first drive source and the driving force to be transmitted, a second drive source, and a second transmission connected to the second drive source and the driving force to be transmitted, and includes a second drive unit arranged in parallel with the first drive unit, and a frictional differential limiting element disposed between the first transmission and the second transmission and limiting a differential between the rotational drive of the first transmission and the rotational drive of the second transmission.

A sound-source search system for searching a sound source that causes a noise propagated inside or outside a cabin of a vehicle. The system includes: a sound-source search device for acquiring sound data by collecting and measuring a sound; an informing device for informing a sound measuring position in which the sound-source search device should be installed for collecting and measuring the sound; and a control device for acquiring a driving information related to a driving state of the vehicle upon generation of the noise. The control device extracts a sound-source candidate that is a candidate of the sound source causing the noise, based on the acquired driving information, and to cause the informing device to inform the sound measuring position that is set based on a predetermined relationship between the sound-source candidate and the sound measuring position. Also disclosed is a sound-source search method using the sound-source search device.

When the vehicle is stopped or running at an extremely low speed, with a rotary-electric-machine driving mode being established, the control device is configured, upon determination that a drive request amount is larger than a threshold amount value, to place a direct clutch of the fluid transmission device into an engaged state and to place the first power transmission path into a power transmittable state so as to cause the power of the first power source to be outputted to the first output shaft.

Driving apparatus for vehicle

A hydrogen concentration calculating process calculates a hydrogen concentration in a specific portion of a target region based on an operating state of an internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine uses hydrogen as fuel. A downstream passage is a portion of an intake passage of the internal combustion engine that is downstream of a throttle valve. A connecting passage connects a crank chamber of the internal combustion engine to the downstream passage. The target region is a region including the crank chamber and the connecting passage. When a condition is met, in which the hydrogen concentration is greater than or equal to a predetermined determination value, a pressure reduction process causes a pressure in the downstream passage to be lower than that at a point in time when the condition is met.

A vehicle driving apparatus includes: an engine; a first rotary electric machine; first and second output shafts; a power distribution device for distributing a power between the first and second output shafts; and a control device for controlling an electric-power generation torque of a second rotary electric machine such that a power distribution ratio between the first and second output shafts becomes a target distribution ratio, and controlling a total torque of the engine and the first rotary electric machine such that a requested drive torque is obtained. The control device executes an electric-power consuming control to supply at least a part of a generated electric power generated by the second rotary electric machine, to the first rotary electric machine without via a power storage device, and to drive the first rotary electric machine, such that an operation state of the engine is brought close to a fuel-economy optimum state.
