A locking device for a trunk in a vehicle. The locking device includes a latch configured to change a state of the trunk between locked and unlocked, and a lever configured to drive the latch to an open position. The locking device further includes a lock knob configured to be disposed outward of a vehicle body to visually determine from an outside of the vehicle whether the trunk is in the locked state or the unlocked state. The lock knob is further configured to be selectively placed in a locked position. In the locked position, the trunk is configured to be brought into the locked state by prohibiting the latch from being driven to an open position. The lock knob is further configured to be selectively placed in an unlocked position. In the unlocked position, the trunk is configured to be brought into the unlocked state by enabling the latch to be driven to the open position. The locking device further includes an actuator for enabling the lock knob to be selectively placed in one of the locked position or the unlocked position. The locking device is configured to authenticate a portable key, when the lever is operated with the trunk in the locked state. When the portable key is authenticated, the lock knob is configured to be driven into the unlocked position.

Vehicle trunk locking device

A straddle vehicle includes: a body frame; an article storage portion including a case portion which is supported by the body frame and opens in a vehicle width direction and a lid portion attached to the case portion so as to be openable and closable and having a storage space; a lock unit for locking the lid portion to the case portion; and an antenna unit for receiving radio waves. A tray member is provided in an upper portion of the case portion in the storage space of the article storage portion, and the lock unit and the antenna unit are accommodated in the tray member.

Straddle vehicle

A saddle type vehicle includes a parking operator for allowing the lever to be lengthened without affecting the surrounding members. A parking lever is arranged more forward than the tip of a first finger of an operator when the first finger is fully extended forward. Therefore, there is no concern that the hand holding the left grip section may touch the parking lever. Thus, the lever can be sufficiently lengthened. In addition, the parking lever is sufficiently far from the grip section toward the vehicle front. As a result, there is no concern that the parking lever may interfere with a normal gripping operation. In addition, a handle switch or other part can be readily arranged on a switch box on the base portion of the grip section without being affected by the parking lever.

Saddle type vehicle

A step structure for being disposed on left and/or right sides of a saddle riding type vehicle includes a base portion connected to the vehicle and forming at least part of a first footrest, and a movable portion rotatably coupled to the base portion so that the movable portion is movable between first and second operative positions thereof by being rotated relative to the base portion. The movable portion forms a second footrest disposed at a position different from the first footrest when the movable portion is at the second operative position thereof and jointly forms a first footrest with the base portion when at the first operative position thereof.

Adjustable step structure for saddle riding type vehicle

A throttle control device for a saddle-ride type vehicle includes a throttle sensor is disposed in a case at a fixed position to detect an amount of a rotation operation of a throttle grip in accordance with a rotation of a throttle pipe. An operation of an actuator which drives a throttle valve to open and close is controlled by a control unit on the basis of a detected value of the throttle sensor. The throttle control device does not require a cancel switch to cancel an operation of an automatic cruise control device, which in turn reduces the number of parts, allowing size reduction of the case fixed on a bar handle.

Throttle control device for saddle-ride type vehicle

A lumbar support mechanism includes a damper having one end supported by the inside of a seat back and the other end capable of extension and contraction. Seesaw links are provided with each having one end connected to the other end and capable of extension and contraction. An intermediate portion is supported at a swing fulcrum by the seat back with the other end extending in the width direction of the seat back, and swung around the swing fulcrum. Pantograph links are connected to the respective seesaw links and are movable up and down in the back and forth direction in conjunction with the swing of the corresponding seesaw links. The lock-release lever is operated to release the lock mechanism of the damper. The extension and contraction force of the damper is transmitted to the pantograph links via the corresponding seesaw links with the pantograph links shifting the pad provided in the seat back.

Lumbar support mechanism for vehicle

A handlebars locking apparatus for locking and unlocking of the handlebars on the basis of a code collation is provided. A collation ECU releases a restriction of a rotor latched by a latch by driving a solenoid if an ignition switch is turned OFF while a lock pin is retracted. After releasing the restriction, rotation of the rotor is restricted by the latch and a code collation with a code stored in a portable key is carried out if a lock pin is in a protrusion state after the release of the restriction and the protrusion state is detected by a lock side switch. If the code collation is correctly carried out, the protrusion of the lock pin is maintained to lock the handlebars. If the code collation is not correctly completed, the restriction of the rotor is released so as to be returned into an unlocked state.

Steering means locking apparatus

A throttle control apparatus includes a throttle control sleeve rotatably mounted on a handlebar of a vehicle, a throttle control housing fixed to the handlebar, and a throttle sensor unit housed in the throttle control housing. The throttle sensor unit is operable to detect a rotational angle of the throttle control sleeve. The throttle control housing is rotatably engaged with an outer periphery of the throttle control sleeve. The throttle sensor unit includes a rotary member having a spline hole formed therein, a fixed contact and a movable contact for detecting rotation of the rotary member. The throttle control sleeve and the throttle sensor unit are engaged with each other by spline fitting. A throttle return mechanism and the sensor unit are arranged in an overlapping manner in an axial direction. Handle switches are arranged on a vehicle body center side of the throttle control housing.

Throttle control apparatus for a vehicle and vehicle incorporating same

A vehicle body includes a pair of left and right main frames extending rearwardly from a front portion of the vehicle body and a seat extending rearwardly from a substantially central portion for providing seating for an occupant. A trunk is provided on the rear side of the seat for storing luggage with a backrest mounted to a front wall of the trunk for supporting the back of the occupant. The occupant includes a rider and a passenger, and the seat includes a front seating portion for the rider and a rear seating portion for the passenger arranged in tandem in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. A pair of left and right rear frames for supporting the trunk extend to a position below the rear seating portion, so that the load of the passenger sitting on the rear seating portion is borne by the rear frames.

Motorcycle

A swing arm structure, in a shaft-driven vehicle, is configured and arranged compactly to minimize the size and weight thereof. A drive shaft of the vehicle is housed in a right arm portion of a swing arm. A front end of the drive shaft is connected to a powertrain output shaft via a universal joint. A pivot sleeve is disposed such that a central axis thereof is disposed downwardly and rearwardly of a central portion of the universal joint, and a front-end opening protrudes forwardly of the pivot sleeve. The central portion of the universal joint, having the largest diameter, is disposed forwardly of the center of a pivot shaft. This helps to keep the opening diameter small at the front of the right arm portion.

Compact swing arm structure for a shaft-driven vehicle, and vehicle incorporating same

A saddle type vehicle including at least one trunk provided with a lid, an opening/closing mechanism for permitting and rejecting the opening and closing of the lid, and a radio signal receiving unit which receives a radio signal for remotely operating the opening/closing mechanism, whereby the radio signal receiving unit is disposed on top of the trunk. A rear trunk is mounted on a rear portion of a body of the vehicle, a lid having a projection formed outside on top of the trunk, and a radio signal receiving unit is disposed inside the projection.

Saddle type vehicle having a remote control type trunk

A remote control type vehicular trunk is provided which includes a plurality of trunks each having a lid whereby the lids are locked and unlocked by a remote controller. The trunks have a pop-up device, which opens at least one of the lids in response to a predetermined remote control. The controller includes a first actuator for locking or unlocking each of the lids, and a second actuator for unlocking the at least one of the trunks provided with the pop-up device and actuating the pop-up device.
