Disclosed is a transparent organopolysiloxane composition consisting of a powdery silicone resin having the following general formula (1), a carboxylic acid compound or a natural oil containing the carboxylic acid compound, and an aprotic solvent. (wherein Reach independently represents a substituted or unsubstituted divalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms which may contain a hetero atom, Reach independently represents a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, or an ethyl group, and a represents an integer of 2 to 70).

A halosilane compound: RCHCHSiRX is prepared by hydrosilylation reaction of a vinyl compound: RCH&#x2550;CHwith a halogenodiorganosilane compound having formula: HSiRX in the co-presence of an iridium catalyst, an internal olefin compound, and an allyl halide. The halosilane compound is prepared on an industrial scale with the advantages of low costs, high yields, and high selectivity, using a small amount of iridium catalyst.
