An object of the present invention is to provide: an electrophotographic member which enhances image quality, prevents the lowering of a grade of an image even when images have been repeatedly output, and can remarkably enhance the stability of the grade of the image; an intermediate transfer member; and an image forming apparatus. The electrophotographic member includes a base layer and a surface layer, wherein the surface layer has a binder resin, perfluoropolymer fine particles, a fluorocarbon resin dispersing agent and a particular fluorine compound, wherein the perfluoropolymer fine particle has a fluorine compound carried on its surface.

When a temporary adhesive layer for peelably bonding a transfer-receiving material to a thermal transfer sheet comprising a substrate film and a heat-fusible ink layer disposed on one side thereof is caused to comprise a specific adhesive, an excellent composite thermal transfer material is provided. In such a composite thermal transfer sheet, the thermal transfer sheet is firmly bonded to the transfer-receiving material so as not to cause wrinkles or deviation, both of these members may easily be peeled from each other so that the ink layer is exactly transferred to the paper in a transfer region and it is not transferred thereto at all in a non-transfer region, whereby the transfer-receiving material is not contaminated. An antistatic treatment provides a composite thermal transfer sheet causing no trouble due to charging at the time of or after printing operation. When at least one end portion of a sheet-type composite thermal transfer sheet is fixed, there is provided a composite thermal transfer sheet wherein unintended peeling is prevented.

A network interface device includes lines having functions for transmitting and receiving a signal to and from a station via a connection port. When a thermal transfer film and a material, on which an image is to be transferred, are spottedly adhered to each other with adhesive particles, the adhesive strength can be successfully regulated as desired and it becomes possible to provide a thermal transfer medium having an excellent storage stability. The present invention relates to a thermal transfer medium comprising: a thermal transfer film having a substrate film and a hot-melt ink layer provided on the substrate film; and an image receiving sheet adhered in a peelable manner to the thermal transfer film on the side of the hot-melt ink layer through a temporary adhesive layer, the temporary adhesive layer including adhesive particles and a binder, the thermal transfer film on the side of the hot-melt ink layer and the image receiving sheet being spottedly adhered to each other. Also disclosed is a thermal transfer medium including: a thermal transfer film having a substrate film and a hot-melt ink layer provided on the substrate film; and an image receiving sheet adhered in a peelable manner to the thermal transfer film on the side of the hot-melt ink layer, the hot-melt ink layer containing adhesive particles, the thermal transfer film on the side of the hot-melt ink layer and the image receiving sheet being spottedly adhered to each other. Also disclosed is a thermal transfer medium including: a thermal transfer film having a substrate film and a hot-melt ink layer provided on the substrate film; and an image receiving sheet adhered in a peelable manner to the thermal transfer film on the side of the hot-melt ink layer, the hot-melt ink layer containing a thermoplastic elastomer having a rubber elasticity.

The object of the invention is a new isomer mixture of 3-hydroxybutyl monothioglycollate and 3-hydroxy-1-methyl propyl monothioglycollate in a weight proportion of about 1.5:1 to 4:1, preferably about 2:1 to about 3:1, comprising less than 5%, preferably less than 2% by wt., of 1,3-butanediol thioglycollate, and its use as the sole or main reducing agent in compositions for permanent waving of human hair. The compositions have reduced smell, good waving properties and an extremely low sensitizing potential on human skin.

The object of the invention is a composition for permanent waving of human hair comprising, as sole or main reducing agent one or several polyglycol monothioglycollates or lactates of the general formula ##STR1## wherein R denotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, X represents an ethoxy or propoxy group, and n is a number from 2 to 5. These compositions have a low characteristic smell, good waving properties, and an extremely low skin sensitizing potential.
