A gas detection element for detection of a measurement target gas is provided. The gas detection element includes a gas detection layer including a chemochromic pigment; and a spacer. The spacer is permeable to the measurement target gas, is disposed on a first surface of the gas detection layer, and has an area smaller than an area of the gas detection layer.

A gas sensing element includes a gas detection layer including a pigment, the gas detection layer including a first surface; and a backing material disposed on the first surface of the gas detection layer. When reducing gas causes the gas sensing element to change in color, a color change &#x394;L* of the gas sensing element is greater than or equal to 5.

Gas sensing element

A gas sensing element includes a gas detection layer including a chemochromic pigment, with modifications towards enhancing shelf-life performance and false detection performance before use. The gas detection layer has an adhesion of greater than or equal to 0.2 N/25 mm. Also described are methods of making the aforedescribed element to attain enhanced shelf-life performance and false detection performance.

An electronic apparatus includes an optical connector adapting unit to which optical connectors of external optical fibers are connected. The optical connector adapting unit includes a plurality of optical connector adapters which are diagonally arranged on the front side of the apparatus. The optical connectors of the external optical fibers are diagonally detachable from the optical connector adapters. In this electronic apparatus, a large number of optical connectors of optical fibers can be connected and arranged in a restricted space.

A pressure-sensitive adhesive material comprises a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer comprising 100 parts by weight of natural rubber and 10 to 120 parts by weight of styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer (SIS) having a radiate configuration with a styrene content of 10 to 45% by weight. Preferably, the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is free of metals or metal compounds. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer may contain 5 to 150 parts by weight of a tackifier having an acid value of 1.5 or more. The pressure-sensitive adhesive material includes (A) a backing-less tape having a release liner having on one surface thereof the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and (B) a double-coated tape having a backing having respective pressure-sensitive adhesive layers on surfaces thereof, at least one of which is constituted by the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer of the above-described type.

An explosion-proof tape is wound on an outer circumference of a panel portion of a cathode-ray tube and a metal band is shrink-fitted on the tape. The tape is composed of a support having at least a layer composed of propylene polymer with a propylene content of not less than 40 weight % or styrene polymer with a styrene content of not less than 50 weight % and an adhesive layer formed on one surface of the support in a manner so that a plurality of fibers with a softening point of not lower than 200&deg; C. are buried in the adhesive layer in a lengthwise direction of the tape. An explosion-proof structure of a cathode-ray tube, wherein a metal band is shrink-fitted on an outer circumference of a panel portion of a cathode-ray tube, through a layer which is formed by winding such an explosion-proof tape as mentioned above, through its adhesive layer.

An optical telecommunication apparatus includes a shelf, a primary substrate provided in the shelf, a secondary substrate provided on the primary substrate, an optical component provided on the secondary substrate, and an optical connector provided on the secondary substrate for connection with an external optical cable, wherein the secondary substrate is pivoted on the primary substrate about a pivot axis so as to be movable about the pivot axis between a first position in which the secondary substrate is inside said shelf and a second position in which the secondary substrate projects outside of the shelf. The secondary substrate is in electrical connection with the primary substrate while in any position between the first and second positions.
