An exposure device includes a transmissive member and a shutter. The transmissive member allows passage therethrough of a light beam directed toward a scanning object. The shutter is mounted so as to be pivotable around a pivot shaft between a closed position and an open position. The shutter has a first member and a second member. In the closed position, the first member shields the transmissive member, and, in the open position, unshields the transmissive member so as to allow the light beam to pass through the transmissive member. In the closed position, the second member is positioned above the first member so as to extend at least beyond peripheral ends, including a free end, of the first member.

An armored unit includes a side cover and a guide member. When sheet jam operation is carried out, a fixing unit is pulled out with the armored unit, and then is pushed to the rear side. This operation unlocks the lock member provided in the guide member, and a shoulder screw moves in a guide hole. Thus, the fixing unit is moved from the pulled out position toward the rear side and toward the main body of image forming device to be shifted to a receding position. On this account, it is possible to provide an image forming device ensuring sufficient space for removing a jammed sheet by hand with a small opening space.

Image forming device with movable processing unit

In an image forming device of the present invention, which is a tandem type, electrophotographic image forming device, a first separating/contacting mechanism mechanically lowers/raises the whole of a transfer frame holding the transfer and transport belt unit in association with the opening/closing of a front door, a second separating/contacting mechanism mechanically lowers/raises the right side of the transfer frame in association with the opening/closing of a right side door, and a third separating/contacting mechanism mechanically lowers/raises the left side of the transfer frame in association with the opening/closing of a left side door. Therefore, the handling of a paper jam can be carried out even when power supply is cut off, and the transfer frame can be separated from the photoconductor drums just by opening a door from a plurality of access directions, on a side opened.

Image forming device

A sheet conveyance guide is configured of separation claws for separating the paper from a conveyer and transfer belt and a movable sheet guide for guiding the paper to a fixer entrance sheet guide. The separation claws are arranged on the upstream side of the movable sheet guide. The movable sheet guide is rotatable about a pivot shaft with its distal end abutted by gravity upon the upstream end part of the fixer entrance sheet guide. The separation claws and movable sheet guide are axially supported so as to rotate on pivots. The sheet conveyance guide moves together with the vertical movement of the conveyer and transfer belt while the abutment point of the separation claws upon the conveyer and transfer belt moves to the appropriate position.

Sheet conveying system

A rotor movement warning device for use in a stepper motor has a stator provided with a plurality of windings and a rotor rotatably provided in associated with said stator. The rotor movement warning device includes a power source, a plurality of switching transistors provided in association with the plurality of windings, respectively, for controlling power supply from the power source to the windings, and a driving pulse producer for producing driving pulses to the plurality of switching transistors for effecting the rotation of the rotor. Further provided are detector for detecting, when the rotor stops, at least one switching transistor which is provided with the last driving pulse, and low frequency signal producer for producing low frequency signals which are applied to the switching transistor detected by the detector.
