A television receiver employs a liquid crystal display panel mounted in a unit which can be set into either a closed position in which the display panel is disposed within a recessed portion of the case of the television set, and an opened position in which ambient light passes through the display panel to be reflected from a mirror towards the viewer. In conjunction with this arrangement, operating control members are positioned to facilitate one-hand operation of the receiver, and the largest circuit components and batteries are positioned with respect to the display panel and control members such as to minimize the overall size of the receiver.

Liquid crystal display television receiver

A glass mounting structure for watches comprises a watch case made of plastic having an opening for the glass. A flange member made of metal plate is embedded in the watch case surrounding the opening. The flange has an inside flange portion which laterally extends into the opening for supporting the glass.

A case for a wristwatch, which comprises a shell fabricated from an outer thin metal plate, an annular metallic reinforcing member positioned within said shell, and an inner shell composed of an injection molded synthetic resin, said inner shell lying in intimate contact with an inner surface of said shell and having an inwardly facing annular recess into which said annular reinforcing member is fitted.
