A terminal device has measurement sensors for measuring physical quantities of measurement targets. A storage unit stores information determining a mode for activating the measurement sensors. Based on the information stored in the storage unit, a control unit switches all or part of the measurement sensors from a non-activated state to an activated state when the measurement sensors are to be activated. An activation unit includes an activation sensor driven on the basis of environmental changes. The activation unit is configured to activate the control unit on the basis of detection results from the activation sensor when a physical quantity correlated with the physical quantity of the measurement target satisfies a given activation condition.

Terminal device, communication system and method of activating terminal device

A terminal device has at least one measurement sensor for measuring a physical quantity of a measurement target. A control unit switches the measurement sensor, when activated, from a non-activated state to an activated state. An activation unit, which is driven at lower power consumption than the measurement sensor, activates the control unit when a physical quantity having a correlation with the physical quantity of the measurement target has satisfied a given activation condition.

A radio communication system has a transmitter and a receiver that transmits and receives, respectively, synchronization signals. The transmitter has a multiple-synchronization-signal generation section configured to generate the synchronization signals, a radio circuit configured to transmit the synchronization signals in a predetermined transmission cycle from a start time of the predetermined transmission cycle and with an interval shorter than the predetermined transmission cycle, and a synchronization signal sequence number generation section configured to assign a sequence number to each of the synchronization signals. The receiver has a synchronization signal detection section configured to detect any one of the synchronization signals transmitted by the transmitter, and has a clock error correction section configured to correct an error of a reference clock based on the sequence number assigned by the synchronization signal sequence number generation section to the synchronization signal detected by the synchronization signal detection section.

A frame generation device has a frame generation section that generates a frame including synchronization information for achieving synchronization with a reception device from among a group including one or more reception devices each of which receives information within the frame, address information indicating an address within the frame for transmitting data, and data transmitted to the reception device included in the group. A group-basis distribution data presence/absence information generation section generates group-basis distribution data presence/absence information indicating whether or not the transmitted data is included in the frame. A synchronization information generation section generates synchronization information including the group-basis distribution data presence/absence information. The frame generation section generates the frame such that the group-basis distribution data presence/absence information is allocated prior to the address information. A central processing unit controls operation of the frame generation section, group-basis distribution data presence/absence information generation section, and synchronization information generation section.

A communication system has a server, base station devices, and terminal devices. The server notifies each base station device of a transmission order of a synchronization signal and of the base station device that is designated as a reference. Each one of the base station devices transmits a synchronization signal to the corresponding terminal device based on the transmission order in a case where the one base station device has been designated as the reference. In the case where the one base station device has not been designated as the reference, the one base station device transmits the synchronization signal to the corresponding terminal device at a timing calculated based on a reception timing by the corresponding terminal device of a synchronization signal received from the reference base station device, a transmission order of the reference base station device, and the transmission order of the one base station device.

A distribution data presence/absence information generation section generates distribution data presence/absence information indicating whether or not data is included in a frame. An organism information detecting apparatus includes a detector that detects organism information of a subject for a predetermined sampling time period, determines a motion state of the subject when the organism information is detected, and outputs an organism signal. A first calculator processes the organism signal to calculate organism information data, the detector determining a reliability degree of the organism information data based on whether the determined motion state of the subject is a previously determined motion state. A second calculator calculates an average value of the amount of variation per time of data obtained by digitizing the organism signal, the average value being data supplementary to the organism information data. The detector determines the motion state of the subject based on whether the supplementary data exceeds a previously determined threshold. A storage device stores the organism information data and the supplementary data such that the organism information data and the supplementary data are associated with one another.

Organism information detecting apparatus

A biometric information detecting apparatus has a biometric sensor for measuring biometric information for a predetermined time period. An A/D conversion portion acquires a sampling data by subjecting an output of the biometric sensor to A/D conversion. A storing portion stores the sampling data. A frequency analyzing portion subjects the sampling data stored in the storing portion to a frequency analysis and stores a result of the frequency analysis to in storing portion. A biometric state value calculating portion calculates a biometric state value from the result of the frequency analysis stored in the storing portion. An SN ratio calculating portion calculates an SN ratio from the result of the frequency analysis stored in the storing portion. A determining portion determines a reliability of the biometric state value based on whether the calculated SN ratio exceeds a predetermined threshold. A measured data storing portion associates a result of the reliability determination with the biometric state value and stores the result of the reliability determination and the biometric state value.

An organism information measuring device has two light irradiating parts that irradiate light of short and long wavelength, respectively, toward an organism, and two light receiving parts that receive backward scattered light from the organism and produce organism information signals according to the quantity of received light. A data processor determines organism information indicative of a condition of the organism based on the organism information signals. The two light irradiating parts may be combined into a single light irradiating part, with one of the light receiving parts disposed farther from the light irradiating part than the other and having a light receiving area larger in size than that of the other and proportional to the distance thereof from the light irradiating part.
