A connector includes a terminal member including a contact portion that can be brought into contact with a connecting target member, the terminal member being attached to an end of a wiring material, a housing including an insertion recess into which the connecting target member can be inserted, the housing retaining the terminal member such that the contact portion can be brought into contact with the connecting target member inserted into the insertion recess, and a dust protection member that protects the insertion recess against dust by blocking an insertion opening of the insertion recess. The dust protection member is formed such that the dust protection member can be penetrated by the connecting target member when the connecting target member is inserted into the insertion recess.

An electrical connector has a cover ( ) attached by a center latching arm ( ) and two side latching arms ( ). The rigidity of a center arm ( ) is decreased, and the rigidity of side arms ( ) is increased, by specifying the material from which a housing ( ) and a cover ( ) are formed. Electrical connector including a lockingly engageable housing and cover

A female housing is provided with a terminal housing member , which houses a female terminal fitting , and a female hood that surrounds the terminal housing member . Inserting areas S are formed between the terminal housing member and the female hood , a male hood of a male housing being inserted into these inserting areas S. A retainer attachment hole is formed in the terminal housing member . A retainer is attached within this retainer attachment hole , which retains the female terminal fitting . A retainer through hole , which passes through to the retainer attachment hole , is formed in the female hood . A guiding face is formed on a face of the retainer that faces towards the-male housing . When the retainer is in a temporary retaining position, this guiding face is located in the vicinity of the inserting area S. When the two housings and are fitted together, an anterior edge of the male hood makes sliding contact with the guiding face , thereby pushing the retainer from the temporary retaining position to a main retaining position whereby the retainer retains the female terminal fitting

There is disclosed a molded part made of thermoplastic resin to which a foaming agent is added and including a protector body (51) having lock portions (56) serving as a strength required area, a lid element (52), and a hinge (54) between the protector body (51) and the lid element (52) and having a wall thickness less than that of the protector body (51) and the lid element (52), wherein the thermoplastic resin forming the protector body (51) including the lock portions (56) contains no foams but the thermoplastic resin forming the lid element (52) contains foams on opposite side of the hinge (54) from the protector body (51), thereby accomplishing a reduced weight and an ensured strength of the strength required area.

Method of fabricating a molded part of thermoplastic resin

A protector made of thermoplastic resin to which a foaming agent is added is adapted such that no foams are present in the thermoplastic resin forming a predetermined volume area including lock portions mounted on a protector body for integrating the protector body and a lid element but foams are present in the thermoplastic resin forming the area other than the predetermined volume area, whereby a molded part of thermoplastic resin is provided which accomplishes weight reduction and an insured strength at a strength-required area.
